They took a very tough path and voted to close the excess schools. People often attack politicians for not being able to make hard choices. These guys did the right thing even though it is painful for the impacted families. It is in the long term interests of all Chicago residents. |

I thank them for not closing my alma mater, Manierre Elementary School. OldTown/Cabrini reprezent! |

The way CPS is run all of the schools should be shut down. Hell, the way Chicago is run the entire city should be broken up into 100 pieces. |

The "reprezent" was spelled with a z intentionally. I'm angry that I have to explain that. |

I'm gonna try to get the kid to some Sox games in June and July...reluctantly.

I went to 5 CPS Schools in my lifetime. Caldwell Reavis Carnegie Michele Clark Von Steuben None of those made the list, but the school that my father and uncle and aunt went to (Delano) is closing. And I know someone that went to at least half of the schools listed. |
