KS will probably confuse giving respect with flip flopping like he did with me last year, but that was a hell of a Finals, despite not every game being very close. Nobody ever questioned his talent, but LeBron played with a ton of heart and poise tonight too. The best player on the planet and Durant isn't close. Til next year.

A person who questions LeBron's greatness is a person whose opinion should be ignored. I hate that they won but I'm not going to deny that he was the only reason they won that series (really not sticking my neck out on that one but hey I'm not a basketball fan so whatever).

I place the Heat championships in the part of my brain where hockey championships and Latin went to die. It just does not exist.

Unneccesary shot at Durant, who is 4 years younger and will soon be passing LeBron

It wasn't a shot at all. It was acknowledging he's the 2nd best player in the league, and also he's not close to being as good or better than LeBron.

No reason to include Durant. And yes, he is close.

Obvious reason for including him as the 2nd best player was for a frame of reference on how good LeBron is right now. Durant isn't close.

Ok. I disagree about the proximity.

I do not like Lebron and the Heat. I was hoping like crazy that they would get their ass handed to them.

But I have to give them respect. Lebron played like the best player in the world to close out this series. He is the man.

Most of all I am thankful for really caring about the NBA over the last few years. There was a period of time following the Jordan years where I grew apathetic about the NBA with a couple years I watched absolutely 0 mins of playoff action. There was no one to really love and no one to really loathe. Lebron and the Heat have changed that.

All they need to add is nWo Heat referee Joey Crawford & nWo Commissioner David Stern.

I love being entertained in my sports viewing, nothing more and nothing less.
Love Jordan, Payton, Hull and all of the other Chicago sports icons. That doesn't mean I cannot marvel at the play of LeBron James, Purple Jesus, Sid The Kid. I could care less who the best player is in a sport, that's not what fuels my interest -- never will be.

For now, Kevin Durant is the only person standing between LeBron and those four additional rings, in my opinion.

What about the Pacers?

I'm still not sold on the Pacers. The only way I see anyone in the East surpassing Miami is if Rose gets some upgraded starters, or if the Heat's talent level drops off considerably after LeBron. Think of what Kobe went through after Shaq left for like 3-4 years until they started winning again with Gasol, Odom, and Bynum. The same scenario may happen to James if Miami continues to depend on the deteriorating play of Wade.

i'm trying to follow you here....on one hand you say Durant is the only thing standing in the way of 4 more rings for James...but then your last few sentences here suggest a deteriorating Heat team. Which is where i fall, i don't think the Heat are in any way some unbeatable dynasty. Bosh is broke and Wade & Allen are just about done. I think the Pacers certainly can beat them , most of their talent with the exception of West (and Granger i suppose) is on the upswing in their careers while most of the Heat are headed downward. and like you said too, I think the Bulls certainly can compete assuming Rose is at the level he was previously and they make some upgrades to the supporting cast

I'd say as long as the Heat keep surrounding James with a good supporting cast, they'll always remain favorites in the Eastern Conference. They are getting older, but we'll see what they do with Bosh this offseason. Like Jordan in the '90s, the team with the most dominant player will always be in the conversation. That being said, I don't see a team in the East dethroning the Heat, even with the diminished play of Wade. Wade was less than spectacular against both the Pacers and Spurs, but the Heat still managed to win both series. I do see OKC beating the Heat because they have more talent.

I'm not with you on the Pacers just yet. West is on the wrong side of 30, they were only four games better than a injury-riddled, Rose-less Bulls team, and I think Rose is better than Paul George. Well, I hope that's still the case. Assuming Rose comes back at full strength, I'd only like the Bulls if they add another star to complement Rose. They're not as talented as the Thunder, and even though they match up well against the Heat, the brilliance of James makes the Heat the favorite. That is why I think the Bulls can only get serious about beating the Heat by adding another creator to complement Rose.
