Slash is awesome, though he did recently post a tweet containing the phrase "fucking eh." I assume it's a typo, but I guess it could be a really intense expression of indifference.

yes, i'm sure if he had the ability to play the United Center, he'd still be "giving it back to the fans" and playing at Ribfest

Hey Mr. Bovifs,
What about Myles Kennedy? Wasn't he singing at Ribfest with Slash? I really like the two of them and enjoyed Slash & Myles album they did some months back.

That's more AXL's style.

Slash is content making millions-upon-millions in royalties and just hitting smaller clubs and venues. Read his book.

He doesn't even have a band of note. He's just playing because he plum fucking LOVES Rock N' Roll.

Period. He's also competely sober now (after he had a heart-attack on-stage and had to have a pacemaker installed, of course) - love of the game.

Look at what type of numbers they did as Velvet Revolver for a more accurate take.

Q! Layin' bitches OUT.

It's convenient that he says he would rather play small venues when he has zero chance of ever playing a large venue again in his life (unless there is some sort of reunion).

so, what the hell does he do on stage then for an hour or whatever?

is it like an hour-long guitar solo ? what songs does he play ? not being able to write songs or sing seems to be somewhat of a handicap for a musician trying to play shows

So he can't sing, and can't write songs. What in the everloving fuck was he "giving back to the fans" at Ribfest then?

And Slash's book is a great read. So cynical Bagels. SMH

Slash's book is next on my reading list. I am currently reading Adler's book. It is not nearly as good as Duff's book. I have heard a lot of good things about Slash's book. Looking forward to that one. Does Izzy have a book out?

I've read pretty much every rock bio out there. I would put Duff's book near the top of the list. It's just such a great read. Adler's book was good. Funny and had some good dirt in it. The Adler/Nikki Sixx story with the groupies belongs in Pentehouse Forum. Slash's book is great because of all the stuff I learned about him and his parents. I won't spoil it for you. Also if you've never read Anthony Keidis' book Scar Tissue, I highly recommend it.

The Slash book was amazing, it takes you from A-Z, not doubt.

Well written, well paced and it just so happens that Slash is a pretty interesting guy, I would definitely put it up there with The Dirt and Crazy from the Heat. He goes into some solid detail about GnR, his fellow band mates and such. I loved it, finished it in a few days.

 Holy cow man no doubt. I just read that part last night. Hard to imagine such a life. The story with him and Steven Tyler is pretty good too.
