The last two M&H dance party Fridays have been nothing short of hilarious. Grote's Tom Tunney impression is top notch.

He's been doing Tunney, sort of speak, for a few weeks now since the "Up the Butt" rant was made.

Big part of the M&H show.

Now of course nobody will say it is because of them and it isnt because, but he is "On that show" even though it isnt "His show"

Going to be "Up your butt"

FYI: Dance Party Friday, first said by Mulligan. Maybe he didnt have the plan and Grote and Dustin ran with it, but the credit still goes to Mulligan.

Admit it, you guys like him!

Today's was good -- there's been a string of bad ones, but Grote did a pretty good Tunney rant.

I like to put this on (with the computer on mute) while I listen:

And they have the first 3 hours up for podcast but not the 4th.

It helps that the rant itself was so weird, but Grote's Tunney is really funny.

The Tunney rant was the cherry on top, for further evidence this guy was out of his league when it came to the Wrigley Issues.

In general , politics is a tough game to play. Some have great intentions and sometimes, by lack of competition they get elected. Tunney would be that guy. He took over a family business (Ann Sathers) and was active in the ward because of it. Probably wasnt happy with that strip of Belmont becoming a tranny fest, so stepped up to clean it up.

Outside of that, he has done a decent job, but when it came to really doing the job and looking big picture he failed and his anger was manifested in his "I will be up your butt" comments, which just showed what a joke the guy really is to everyone who didnt know before that.

No, I don't like him. Dance Party Friday is the only redeeming quality of this show, and that's 99.9% Grote.

iirc Grote was a traffic dude at channel 5 AM show for a while. Didn't they have some friday dance thing? I seem to remember people (SHARK) mentioning this fact. I am pretty sure Mully is just snidely referencing that unfortunate time in Grote past.

With impressions, its half sounding like the person and half being funny with content

I love that Grote does the Spell out words thing with Les. Les claims he doesnt do that. I believe him.

But its the KIND of thing Les WOULD do, so it works perfectly

No, that was Matt Rodewald, who was like a less talented Brian Paruch.

And I'm sure Les has spelled things out. Maybe even wrong.

Yep. Think of all the impressions of presidents done on SNL. Most of the physical part is based on a single incident done by the person that gets exaggerated by the impressionist.

Phil Hartman's Clinton is/was the best

Phil Hartman was the best SNL cast member and it's not even close. People who say otherwise fail to Get It on a level so profound that it can't be equaled in any other field of failing to Get It.

Grote does crosstalk/transition with Les most mornings around 4:45. Sometimes it is a painful excercise in eggshell walking. Other times, if Les is in a good mood, it's hilarious. Les was talking about being at a '64 Cubs game or something and Grote started doing an 11-year-old Les impression that was inspired.
