Thank you for winning this game and sending all the ND fan trolls into a terrible depression. Of course they might make up a fake girl with cancer thing for a player to get to a championship but not likely. Thank you blue for making all these asshole Irish fans irrelevant. |

I just root against Brian Kelly because he scheduled practice outdoors in a windstorm, that kid died on the scissors lift and he took zero responsibility for putting him in harm's way. |

Unto one another they said, "Go Blue", and verily, the favor of THE LORD was found upon the assemblage. And it came to pass that THE LORD did cause the football to ricochet not once, but twice, into the arms of Blake Countess, and there was much rejoicing. CHICKENS ..... fffffffffffffffffffffft!!! |

i once heard someone media/ish connected with the golden domers say "there's a perception that we think we're better than you..... and that's because we are" and welp, in the spirit of that, after last year's reality check from bama, this is a glorious win. sure, notre dame will get a bunch of wins and get a nice bowl.... but national title picture? with *MY* SEC? it's less likely than you think. |

Hey sorry if I offend some but I find in the people that I come across socially, facebook etc. that ND fans are the worst cretins to walk the planet. I would root for the Cubs before ND. |

Yeah, it's all the same sanctimony, just without the Catholic angle, the lack of which I feel gives Ann Arbor snobbery a certain emptiness. |

I'm not going to contribute much to the moral-high ground pissing match over a football game here, but the Lizzy Seeburg situation over at ND has won them plenty of vitriol as well. Deadspin had a rather lengthy article on it this morning (or, a rather lengthy email sent to them by a good samaritan over at Michigan). oh, and @ Don Tiny |

Let the record show I'm only a low-level "fan" of Michigan ... Long ago I got tired of rooting for Illinois just because it was (to some degree) expected by the general populace ... and Speeps (and others) will like this, Michigan was nominated purely because the Steiners went to Michigan and they were in the Big 10 .... this is around the '89 run by the IL basketball run, and it just was too much attention for a flash in the pan for me to bear. |

Any college football team will have college football fans, so having both teams lose is the only desirable outcome. |

To wit: Quote: This is Michigan. Some might call Michigan arrogant, some might hate on us for having higher standards that most. But this is Michigan, that Notre Dame is coming into tonight. This is a school that values its standards to the point that a new coach, Rich Rodriguez, was (unfairly) run out of town for even appearing to violate these standards. This is a school with protests against Nike when they outfitted Michigan teams in 2001, with protests for tuition equality today, and has an actual digital exhibit on 1960's student protests. Heck, even last week, a bunch of the Michigan fanbase got the school to take out a giant Kraft noodle from Michigan Stadium. (We don't have advertising like that in the Big House.) We have high standards. It's a big part of who we are, and who we seek to be. Even the mission statement of the University of Michigan reads: "The mission of the University of Michigan is to serve the people of Michigan and the world through preeminence in creating, communicating, preserving and applying knowledge, art, and academic values, and in developing leaders and citizens who will challenge the present and enrich the future." This is Michigan. Things are not taken lying down. The major storyline around tonight's game is on how Notre Dame is backing out of this rivalry, how this is the last matchup in Ann Arbor, and how Brady Hoke called Notre Dame "chickens" for not playing us. Which, again, brings me back to that sign. We don't accept this kind of thing at Michigan. We stand up for what's right. You can hear the sputtering sound of a deflating balloon as you get to this part. He quoted a mission statement! Who in recorded history has ever given a fuck about one of those?? |

I got so pissed off by the end of his Michigan jackoff session that I went all the way to thinking he was a shithead for having the sign in the first place, since he's clearly no better than his adversaries. God, I'm glad they cancelled their stupid rivalry. Imagine being in the stands at one of these games. They're probably filled with old men waxing nostalgic for the days when college football was a gentleman's pursuit and their two teams could do more than perennially lose four or five games and play in the Applebee's Bottomless Chicken Wings Bowl or some such shit -- but even that's a desirable outcome as long as they keep their precious imaginary moral high ground. |

If you are saying they lost a shot at the championship then I agree. But a shot a bowl game is still well within their reach. Teams 6-6 get into bowls. |
