He released a statement that he feels he has grown up as a musician and would like the "Kid" dropped from his name. So he will be known as Rock going forward -- not The Rock, because that is already taken. |

If he never opened his mouth or appeared in public he would probably be tolerable. |

Keeping Score wrote: Ok, I guess Wiki disagrees with me: "All Summer Long" is a song recorded by Kid Rock. It was released in 2008 as the third single from his seventh studio album Rock n Roll Jesus. The song samples two hit songs of the 1970s, Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London", and Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama"; the idea for the mashup was suggested by Mike E. Clark.[1] Hmmph. It's a great song nonetheless. Jerks. Stop smoking crack. First, when you have to steal not one but two huge classic songs instead of even minimal creativity to cut one shitty cliche ridden piece of sbit together it shows how hasbeenish and hacky you are. Second, for gods sake kid rock tame a shower and wash your hair. You look like a skeeze. |

Rock and Roll Jesus(CD) has some good Southern Rock type stuff on it. I still find it funny that when white artists do "sampling" They are called thieves, this as well as Vanilla Ice. Yet Puff Daddy steals an entire song and it is called brilliant. Kid Rock has some real enjoyable stuff to listen too. Is he one of my top 10 no, but he does not bug me like other stuff. |

Kid Rock is a friendly Fred Durst. "All Summer Long" is ok, but that has nothing to do with him and everything to do with Warren Zevon. |

Chaspoppcap is going to be hopping mad when someone points out that the folk music tradition is all about stealing from one another and not even having the courtesy to pay royalties, and that this is widely accepted. |

Your post made me think of the story of Iko Iko. Fascinating story if you ever have the time to read about it. There's a pretty damn good short version on wikipedia. |
