Just heard that his wife gave birth today and he flew up. Dude said best day in his life (correct) and almost busted into tears because he let team down. Today Mr. Gould you get the Pittmike pass. |

Someone needs to give them condoms or make them get a vasectomy until their playing days are over. |

Will Gould be a Bear next season? He was looking for a $3M extension this year and Emery told him no. On the open market there will be a lot of teams willing to pay a lot more than that. The Bears will probably have to use the franchise tag on him. |

You have HoF Kicker's and others suggesting it because of the conditions he plays in and because of his numbers. I don't know if I would personally say that. |

My comment was really that some GM of a domed team will give him 5M |

Any GM who gives him $5 million a year should be fired immediately. Even the best kicker in the league(which I'm not positive he is) isn't worth that. |

I'll have to look at the salaries of other kickers but I don't think that is as outrageous as you believe. I believe this is the last year of a 3 year deal that paid him $9M. It is safe to say he earned every dime of that contract. |

The Bears will probably have to use the franchise tag on him. I disagree that many teams will be willing to pay a lot more than 3. Also, it's a bad look to sound as cocky as he did in the preseason about his contract and then lose a vital game in the middle of a season for the team on a relatively easy attempt in a dome. |

There's not a whole lot of value difference between the best kicker in the league and the 10th best. As long as you don't have a truly terrible kicker it really doesn't matter who your kicker is. |

He should get a 5 year $20M deal at least. http://overthecap.com/top-player-salari ... Position=K |

I disagree. Having a guy like Gould you are shocked when they miss. You even expect the 66 yard kicks to possibly go in. That gives a team a lot of confidence. He's also made the big kicks throughout his career so there is no fear of him choking under pressure. |

Going to say they let him walk and draft a kicker. or sign a bunch from college Not sure if anyone remembers, Gould was called of a construction site to kick. he worked on getting his leg stronger and he got better. Find the next Gould and dont pay this guy $4M |

If only it were that simple. A lot of teams are looking for Robbie Gould's and they haven't been able to find one. If the Bears don't franchise him someone will pay him $4M next season. |

At one point he couldnt kick out of the endzone. Thats great. Someone will pay him, just let someone else do it. every year a handful of good kickers come out, Tucker, Z, Walsh, all rookies last year as an example and I will take any of them over Gould if the salary is $3M difference |

I'd rather pay him $3 than pay Cutler $18-20. |

Maybe his leg was hurting from trying a 66 yarder (which he almost made!) He IS worth 4 mil. He is close to being the greatest of all time. What the hell more do you want? |
