DUDE.... fuck that man. i aint making excuses for trestman and/or the team.... but isn't this the same team that most people picked to finish between 7-9 and 9-7? here they are at 8-7 with a chance to go either 9-7 or 8-8.....and now next week is basically the equivalent of a NCAA tourney play-in game.... the playoffs start a week early for the bears. and if they cant beat a team like GB with a rusty/~75-90%-effective-rodgers then it's not like they were gonna have a chance against seattle/SF/nawleans or the eagles, as was proven tonight (yes, i think the bears could take the panthers to the woodshed)

so yeah man.... this aint detroit.... that shit's unforgiveable. even if they made it to the NFC title game and lost you had to get rid of the guy for squandering multiple years where the red carpet to the division championship was rolled out and they instead decided to get out of the limo pull down their pants and run around screaming HEY EVERYBODY LOOK AT MY PEEPEE IT'S WET AND HAHAHAHAH TINKLE!!!! as they proceed to piss themselves while they go and grab the nearest chick and say MOMMY I NEED SOME MILK SHOW ME YOUR BOOBIES.... --- yeah it's far from that.

the bears are a team with an offense heading in the right direction with a defense that's hit rock bottom, so they can beat most teams while they can lose to anybody. i wanna see cutler in year 2 with trestman with the hopes that improving the o-line's runblocking alongside another year of mastering the system in place = get us even a pretty bad defense (as opposed to league worst) and pimp out that offense and just get into the dance next year. shomer shabbos *pounds table*

Trestman had his team quit on him in the most important game of year. That's a huge indictment of his leadership. I think washes away a lot of good will.

They collapsed by failing to lock up a playoff spot like Detroit did. Because of that failure, the playoffs start next week for the Bears in the regular season, instead of in the actual playoffs two weeks from now after taking it easy next week in Chicago. The failure to take advantage of the moment is inexcusable.

Trestman is a master strategist? Is he as good as people are making him out to be? A lot of investment has been poured into the offense: Marshall, Bushrod, Bennett, Jeffrey, Long. Perhaps any competent coach could have the Bears O humming along with such talent.

I am glad the Bears complete suckage tonight can help you forget that pile of garbage your team was today. They were given a TD by the refs and had the ball on the 1 yd line and could not tie it up.

Teams don't "quit on their coach". The game happened to get away from them early & it got out of hand. It happens to every team occasionally. It's one game. It happened to the Niners earlier this year.
The Bears will be sharp next Sunday.

Some of the running plays the Eagles ran for big yardage/TD's the effort was lackluster at best. It looked a lot like a team that quit giving it's best effort to me.

goddamn man.... y'all actin like you ain't ever supported a football team that got a whoopin b4....

that's all that this was... a good ol fashioned whoopin. what's the big difference between finishing 8-8 and missing the playoffs as opposed to finishing 9-7 and likely being a one and done?

that's what's on the line next week.... 2-4 draft positions or whatever. no big deal.... and hey if the bears are fated to be a one and done at least they'd get to trounce the packers and drive those fat pasty wisconsonites to the bottle/comfort-pie as the last huzzah for the season!

now if you wanna start talking shit about mel tucker let's have some proper fuckin' dialogue. there's a guy who deserves to be a one and done. this ain't jacksonville.... and this defense is playing just like the JAX defense did last year. i dont wanna hear no more excuses.... the guy sucks and let's see if tresty has the tresticles to say "that 2013 defense was unacceptable" and make some proactive changes, or if he's got some of that lovie in him where he's like "we don't give up on our coaches that easily" which prolly = management whispering in his ear "hey we're not paying for mel's buyout.... he has at least one more year with you, capisce?

Quarterback whisperer? Can he whisper to only average quarterbacks to make them play above-average? Why can't he take a quarterback oozing with tools into the elite category? Jay's mechanics were subpar tonight. That shouldn't be in Week 15.

He should have deferred. I called it in real-time.

that last td they quit. on the extra point shea made a half ass hand raise with no other bodily effort. I realize an extra point is no big deal but you finish every play in this league and that was total busch league effort

It shouldn't happen in week 1, if the QB has been playing as long as Cutler has. He's not a franchise QB and if the Bears sign him to a long term contract, they are crazy.

Sini, past two weeks Cutler has looked same old same old. Fans were promised a quarterback whisperer that would transform him into an elite producer. So has Trestman actually improved Cutler or has Emery spending on Marshall, Bennett, Bushrod, etc around Cutler increase his stats? If it's the players then Trestman isn't the genius he's made out to be.

Kirkwood the only place you're wrong about Trestman is not realizing that he did in fact successfully use his QB whisperer powers to raise the Bears' QB's level of play to a place where it had never been before. That much is indisputable. In fact he was so impressed with himself that be benched that QB only to see if the same powers could work with the other QB.

I blame Devin Hester.

And can someone tell me the big games Cutler has won against good teams in high pressure situations?

Trestman made the right call. He wanted his high powered offense to hit the Eagles in the mouth first instead of playing catchup. If all went well the Eagles would have taken the 2nd half off of a meaningless game.

When you look at potential seedings in the playoffs that game was pretty important to Philly.
