If you're joking, please disregard but I never really dug the show. It's a "classic" that I can't really remember any moments from and I'm pretty sure I watched it all the time.

You know what?

{voice over in my head}

all i wanted was to fit in, but fitting in isn't as easy as it sounds. When you're just a lonely kid who knows what crappy tv is that's rife with over sentimentality and faux nostalgia... well even looking at winnies' prepubescent rack couldn't quite bring me from my melancholy.

{end voice over}

Can you imagine how hard it was for Savage to sit there and make goofy ass faces while Daniel Stern rambled on for like 5 days about stupid shit? You can't sit there any make weird faces for 5 minutes between dialogue exchanges. It's weird.

I really like the episode where the dad comes home from work all cranky and then Wayne calls Kevin a "scrote", so then Kevin goes out and shoots hoops in the driveway with his best friend.

My favorite episode is when Kevin finally *** Winnie.

Can't do that in the city. Obviously the suburbs are better for shitty 50's nostalgia.

Great show -- especially for those who grew up in white suburbia.

Oh cool, they're getting the music rights. I had heard that was the main thing that kept the series off of DVD for years.

Did you know the guy who played the older brother (Jason Hervey) now produces a reality show following around a biker gang? I think it's called "Devil Dogs". He is currently involved in a Twitter war with the SOA Producer about who's guys are tougher! :lol:

Chicago, IL is the birthplace of Fred Savage.

yeah that's been the one thing pulling it back. it's been circulating in bootleg dvd's (ripped usually from abc family reruns or ION television) for years but it'll be nice to get the full episodes with the music in a good picture with good sound.

The suburbs are shitty 50s nostalgia.

The Wonder Years was good but I prefer CSFMB Leave It To Beaver.

jimmypasta as Ward Cleaver
Spaulding as June Cleaver
BRick as Wally Cleaver
Noisewater as Eddie Haskell
Some Guy as Lumpy

And IMU as The Beaver.

It's no My So-Called Life, that's for sure. Jordan Catalano is like Lloyd Dobler for a different generation of women.

Yeah I have the bootlegs and the quality is pretty bad. Depending on how much this costs it would be nice to
have a quality version of this series. I usually watch it every other year or so.

Dude, Angela Chase is my teenage wet dream. She's designed for old guys rather than for teenaged boys. Sort of like Juno.

He was also involved with WCW when it was in the middle of the Monday Night Wars. He was a producer/writer. He almost bought WCW with Eric Bishoff before they caved and sold it to McMahon.

Post subject:  Re: Wonder Years on DVD

I can remember watching this all the time as a kid and people in grammar school talked about it like it was the best show. Then, as I got older and watched a few reruns I thought the show was lame. Kevin got too many cuties for a guy with no personality and the inability to speak a sentence coherently. He'd fit right in at the Score as a fill-in host.
