I saw this earlier today and it's great. But, I still can't believe that first one wasn't a setup. I even have doubts on this one but it looks pretty real. I just can't believe you can put a guy through that legally without his consent. |

I had my headphones on. I was laughing so hard co-workers came over and asked if I was OK. I must have been talking to myself. |

They could have sent him paperwork that they were going to take a test drive and he had to sign it or something. Probably where he thought they were going. |

Jeff Gordon pranks writer in Pepsi Max Test Drive sequel (video) By Cindy Boren February 27 at 11:00 amMore Comments Jeff Gordon, minus the disguise. (Terry Renna / AP) Last March, Jeff Gordon made a little commercial for Pepsi Max in which he purportedly pranked a used car salesman with some fancy drivin’ maneuvers. That spot, which was produced by the division of Will Ferrell’s Funny or Die company that churned out those Ron Burgundy Dodge ads last fall, has been watched nearly 41 million times on YouTube and was broken down like Zapruder footage by Jalopnik’s Travis Okulski. That buzzkill breakdown, Okulski writes today, angered Gordon and the NASCAR driver, with help from Okulski’s editor and a great makeup artist, got a little revenge on Okulski in, conveniently, a new commercial for Pepsi Max. Okulski explains in great detail just how and why he was got so good by Gordon. “The problem is that everything in it was fake,” he writes of the first ad. “Jeff wasn’t driving the car, stunt driver Brad Noffsinger was. The car was the wrong model year. Every person in the ad was actually an actor. We were the first website to call it out and dissect everything. I did a few interviews on TV and wrote three stories about how Pepsi and Gordon duped the public. That [ticked] Jeff off and he wanted to do it again. Bigger. Better. He wanted to get me back.” He really was pranked this time, he says. “So, just as I was able to say with total certainty that the first Pepsi Test Drive ad was totally fake, I can say with total certainty that this second Pepsi Test Drive ad is unequivocally, one hundred percent, totally, absolutely real.” |

That guy could easily make a boatload of cash off of Pepsi if he wasn't a willing participant. That, and why on God's green Earth would Pepsi or Gordon put themselves in a position where they could be exposed to an extremely unfortunate liability situation ... what if a tire blows on the car and a cataclysmic accident happens ... what if the guy had a grabber and snuffed it ... so on and so forth. There's no rational reason to think this one was not preplanned. |
