...or whoever's in charge of the weather! hell yeah i just checked weather underground (cuz if your weather site isn't named after some sort of domestic terrorist group then you're trying.... your move, weather.com) and it says it's 44.3 degrees out here, which leads me to believe we might even peak as high as 47-50 degrees before the day's out! #AboutFuckingTime on twitter.... get it trending kids! i make this shoutout because this winter has worn my ass out. with this looking like it's going to end up the #3 winter in terms of snowfall, and the first 2 being before i was even born, this is the most snow i've ever had to deal with in a chicago winter and the constant barrages of 4" here, 6-8" there (you know, just like a veritable multiracial bukakke session!) has really gone and dampered my otherwise indefatigable spirit when, example, you can't make it more than ~4-5 days with merely having snow cover... you have to get another 4-8" added, and usually it's coming overnight so it combines with all of the "drift snow" and you wake up with a pretty decent shoveling effort required to preserve the status quo, and hey i take pride in my driveway consistently being the best looking one on the block without even one little kernel of salt being dropped upon it. so yeah, knowing chicago/land like i do whenever we make it to late feb / early-mid march and the temperatures start to level in that ~40/+ degree area to the point where you think you might FINALLY be on the other side of the proper winter, that's when there's always one more 6"/+ snowfall coming to remind you that you live in chicago, not san diego (like we didn't figure that out from the lack of ubiquitous strip clubs along the highway anyways) so i see that despite some 46/43 scheduled for mon/tues we're going back to 28/snow on wednesday...... but yeah man, god willing i see more 35-45 degree days forecasted after that so hopefully the new normal is here and we can get that obligatory snowjob out of the way because holy shit, who's with me that this winter wore their ass out? seriously some of youse have to be right alongside me in that this winter was especially trying and perpetually annoying and wet/cold/nasty and yeah, we have to get ready because there's baseball going down in the joan in 24 days so let's at least have a 55 degree day for that, can we mr. skilling? (i ask tom skilling because i remember that one WGN weather/news commercial that showed tom's head over a giant lightning-strewn sky and asked if he was so good at forecasting the weather that perhaps is he the one making the weather? clearly he is....and he even sacrificed his brother to the illuminati for the blood money needed to buy his weather demi/god powers, so yeah, PLEASE LET US HAVE SOME NICE WEATHER TOM, MY LIEGE, MY LORD, MY WAY AND MY LIGHT) TL;DR = hey everybody how's the weather? sure is nice out today isn't it! |

I just love that sini is so aware of his need to be seen as alternative that he needs to get his weather from an alternative underground site? How about the 1 button app on your phone? |

How about the 1 button app on your phone? lol i know you're just busting my balls, but for the sake of my board-ego/reputation.... there is literally no comparison between weather.com and weather underground. the latter is vastly superior.... look at the page that comes up for zip code 60666 on weather.com >> http://www.weather.com/weather/today/Ch ... 60666:4:US and compare that to the page on weather underground >> http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/fin ... uery=60666 weather.com is trying to link you to giant pictures of weather, blogs, and all kinds of other tangential shit (likely with their business partners) and in fairness i guess you could say that they try to streamline the most pertinent info in the middle of the screen.... meanwhile wunderground just goes BLAM with all kinds of information with easier access to long term forecasts, temperature graphs, and then when you get to the bottom of the page you can see the constantly-updating-readings for like 25 different weather stations in the area.... weather.com? right under their radar check out their vast repetoire of clickbait >> Latest Stories Which State is the Fattest? Creepy, Abandoned Hotels and Resorts Most Popular TodayThis Week No Vacancies: 10 Abandoned Hotels and Resorts (PHOTOS) Amazing Photos of Pitcairn Island (Population: 48) The World's Most Densely Populated Cities Do You Live in the Fattest State? Then DEATH! again, compare that to the vast expanse of extra information wunderground gives you (sunrise/sunset times, precipitation totals, moon charts.... barometric pressure, almanac-style records....) it's just no comparison. so yeah if you wanna slag me off as a counter-culture weather hipster go ahead.... but i'm telling you that wunderground simply kicks ass for looking up the weather. i'd way rather have all kinds of unnecessary extra weather info on my page than GRAPHIC: TRAGIC END FOR RHINO!!!! but hey i DO wonder if i live in the fattest state... * clicks away * |

bigfan wrote: Just dont need all that. SNOW? RAIN? TEMP? it's your loss, man. i can't sit here and think "oh gee one or two might people might not care to read a few paragraphs so i'd better curtail my thoughts/expressions to fit their ideal formatting." but whatever the case (kinda odd, but not quite as strange as baby mac's rage/mission against the board) i'm glad you get whatever weather you want via some app or something, but when it comes to weather webpages i'm going to pull up the one brimming with all kinds of weather information, even if some of it is unnecessary, as opposed to the one that has an agenda to get me clicking on a bunch of other clickbait crap. personal choice i reckon. and we're losing the mission statement of giving a shoutout to weather god skilling for this mild weather! who doesn't love giant puddles on every sidewalk/driveway this time of year? |
