OH MY GOD The other 9 guys who are better than LeBron are in awe of LaMa Portland forward LaMarcus Aldridge's historic run of 40-point games continues LAST UPDATED April 24, 2014 3:04 AM EDT DeAntae Prince Sporting News Follow on Twitter Archive Email RSS Share LaMarcus Aldridge is on a historic run and the Portland Trail Blazers are only two games into the postseason. Yes, he's been that good in these NBA playoffs. Aldridge posted the highest-scoring playoff game in Trail Blazers history when he put up 46 points in Game 1, then he turned around and added 43 points on 18-of-28 shooting in a 112-105 Game 2 win that secured a 2-0 series lead over the Houston Rockets. Aldridge's numbers put him in good company, as he became the first player to post 40 points in consecutive playoff games since Miami Heat forward LeBron James did so as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2009. Wait, there's more. Aldridge joined even more rarified air because he came up with these performances on the road in Houston. The Texas native and former Longhorn felt right at home, which helped him join Michael Jordan and Tracy McGrady as the only players to score 40 points on the road in Games 1 and 2 of a series. It must be said that Jordan scored more than 100 points in the first two games of a series twice, posting 112 in the 1985-86 season and 102 in the 1987-88 series. |
