Any growing interest in soccer can only be a sign of the nation's moral decay. I resent the force-fed aspect of soccer. The same people trying to push soccer on Americans are the ones demanding that we love HBO’s “Girls,” light-rail, Beyonce and Hillary Clinton. The number of New York Times articles claiming soccer is “catching on” is exceeded only by the ones pretending women’s basketball is fascinating. Liberal moms like soccer because it's a sport in which athletic talent finds so little expression that girls can play with boys. No serious sport is co-ed, even at the kindergarten level. Giving her credit for Trolling an entire nation of other media people on this one. Although I do pretty much agree |

That's a bit too much piling on to be taken seriously. Just a (successful) attempt to get in the news cycle on a Friday morning. |

Well, youth soccer is basically an excuse to get kids outside and running around, but when the alternative is for kids to sit on their asses and play with their iPads all day, running up and down a field all afternoon isn't the worst thing in the world. And we have been force-fed soccer and how it's going to catch on for way too long now. Obviously it won't. The rest of it is trolling not worth dignifying. |

Nothing wrong with the excuse to get them out to running around for 20 minutes. I just love how 20 minutes of a 7 year olds game can take up 3 hours of time. Need to pack the car, cooler, chairs, umbrellas, drinks, snacks. And everyone shows up in a minivan or SUV with their entire setup of a mini camping excursion. |

I like soccer. I just do not like the pushing it on us. The whole"Well,It is most popular in the world so to fit in you got to do it." Sorry folks but America and Americans do not just follow along with everyone else. That is one of the reasons we became what we are. |

Nobody is forcing it on anybody. In fact as soon as the US loses 95% of these people filling their timelines with USMNT stuff will go back to not caring about soccer. It's a good excuse to pretend to care so you can go "America! Fuck yeah!" for a couple weeks |

She is of course tolling, as that's how she makes her money. But she is also part of the reason this country sucks. It's really not funny, and her "points" are stupid. Shoutout denied. |

Just look at our terrible news. Republicans really need to stop with the victim card. |

Bernstein is probably jealous he didn't write most of that or has ever gotten a fraction of the attention. The only time he got national attention was around Christmas and I'm sure he'd like to pretend that never happened. |

Thank god for the snacks and drinks, because after those 20 minutes of standing around kicking the ball, lets get them out of the sun, rehydrate and feed them. A 10 AM game takes a lot out of you after the Starbucks breakfast at 8. Maybe a few more parents yelling KICK IT! at their 7 year olds who have no idea what is going on. |
