Latroy Hawkins, BJ Upton, Wesley Wright , and Torii Hunter donated 5k apiece to the Jackie Robinson Little League team so their parents could travel to Williamsport to watch the team. It's too bad we don't have like a billionaire owner on the south side or maybe one of his multi millionaire players who could've stepped up to do it instead of relying on donations from 3 out of town players . Well done o those players who made it happen.

The billionaire owner is preparing to have a massive celebration or stroke today with the announcement of the new mlb commish.

I'm wondering why Tom Ricketts didn't do it.

Surprised to not see Curtis Granderson a part of this.

Maybe if more people went to games at the Cell Jerry would have the money to do this.

He has. (and you can include Justin Upton in the group as well)

BJ Upton should probably be a little tight with his money...make sure he has a good savings plan going on. He is on his last major league contract.

Also, did anyone else read this:

I think Paulie is putting an addition on the 8500 sq ft mansion so things are a little tight for him.

Didn't know Kate Upton, Jennifer Hawkins, Robin Wright, and Rachel Hunter were such big Chicago Little League fans.

You DO realize the Sox ARE picking up part of the tab for the watch party....at Jackie Robinson Park, not the Cell?

Yes, PART, congrats. I am sure both teams will have these kids on the field soon after they are done, win or lose and if they win, I hope Mayor Rahm has a parade down Lasalle for them, that would be ultra cool.

Typical Sox fan, making everything about the Cubs.

So Sox pr staff was aware enough about this to co sponsor (couldn't pick up the entire tab huh) a watch party that'll cost them a couple thousand at most but not aware that many parents weren't going to be able to attend a once in a lifetime event that their children are involved in without donations? I'm sure the gate receipts from one home game would've almost covered it by itself. It's still pretty sad that the only local player or management to do anything is a scrub pitcher from the North side making 1.2 million this year.
