Dump a bucket of poutine on your head or give $100 dollars to the Quebec sovereignty movement. |

Just think how badly those areas of Canada messed up by not letting America take it over. |

Meant to say I really liked Quebec or at least Montreal. The language dealio was a little tough but very very cool city even for an Anglo. |

Montreal, from what I understand, is fine. Still mostly French, but very multicultural. I was not there. Quebec City...not as much. Quebec City had a small touristy area, but even that was still 90% French. And these are the folks that want to secede. They don't even like English speaking Canadians, let alone English speaking Americans. Charlevoix speaks pretty much no English. In Quebec City, restaurants and businesses at least had some staff that spoke English on staff at all times. Charlevoix had no such policy. Gas Stations...Tim Hortons....French only. |

The influx of English-speakers from the Windsor-Ottawa corridor must've softened Montreal. Yea, you were in hardcore "french" territory but Quebec City is very pretty. |

Actually, secession was most popular among francophone Montrealers who felt under siege by English-speaking culture. |

It is. I have a few pictures. The area around Place d'Youville and Old Quebec is very nice. There is no doubt about it. But it seems like a place that is supposed to be for tourists...yet if you don't speak French the area is definitely difficult...and some folks look down on you. |
