I don't think there is doubt any longer that he is the greatest coach in college basketball history. However, he is quickly rising to the top five of the list of people of Polish ancestry in the history of the world. Now, I previously pm'ed my top five to spmack so this has been fully vetted: 1. John Paul II- pope, saint, changed the world 2. King Jan Sobieski III- saved Europe 3. Nicholas Copernicus- created the model of the heliocentric solar system and ushered in a revolution in the scientific approach 4. Lech Walesa- stared down the one of the world's superpowers at its height, eventually bringing freedom to hundreds of millions 5a. good dolphin- won many internet wars and most noted for his work as a general in the great battle for Midwestern sports fandom 5b. Mike Krzyzewski-developed basketball players but more importantly developed great men. |

Sure we are leaving out many greats who brought freedom to people throughout the world in like Paderewski, Pulaski and Kosciuszko but the list had to be culled. |

The one complaint I would have is that he allowed the nickname "Coach K" rather than insisting that anglo society actually take the difficult step of learning to spell his name. This in an industry populated by exotic names and spellings. |

Not impressed in the least. 6 McDonalds All Americans on the roster vs 0 for Wisconsin. Coach K wants to impress me? Lets see him win without a MCD All American on the roster. Let's see him win with mostly instate players in the starting lineup. Until then, he's just a better version of Calipari. |
