Not sure about the legality but all sorts of market regulations violated.

I dont know what market regulations where broken as RPB stated, but I do know its a bad system.

He may have 'triggered" the crash, but I dont blame him for that....as all the algos just jumped in authomatically. One might say he took advantage of a situation that had been taking advantage of him.

Always tough to defend the guy who funnels the cash to offshore accounts. Not easy to go with the 'I wasnt doing anything wrong" story

What I don't understand is where the CME has been all this time. The guy made "only" 900k on the day of the flash crash, and has been spoofing, layering, etc. for the last four years, during which he has made over $40m. And now they arrest him? Why wasn't his Tag (operator ID) revoked long ago?
