The "scorched glutinous rice" is also said to contain essential amino acids, inorganic substances and vitamins and help the body break down fats - making it a likely favourite of dictator Kim Jong-Un.

The liquor has reportedly won a series of accolades in the North Korean food and drink industry - including a top ranking at the fifth national liquor exhibition, first place in the food sector of the 30th national scientific and technological festival and a December 15 Medal of Quality.

I think I've mentioned this before, but a friend of mine teaches at a fancy East coast prep school and one of her students was the daughter of a high-ranking North Korean cabinet member. I think he was like the minister of war or something. Anyway, the girl was fucking up and failing my friend's class. So the dad flew in for a meeting with my friend. They sat down and he said, "She must not fail." My friend said, "I know, she's needs to work harder. I've made it clear I'm available after class if she needs extra help or we can set up a tutor for her." The guy said again, "She must not fail." He had a briefcase and my friend told me she thought it might have a nuke inside. Eventually, the girl ended up getting kicked out. I wonder if this is the guy.

This is a fairly terrifying bit of news. Not just that he did it. But that he seems to have released it as a press release. At least the guy getting eaten by starving dogs was something of a rumor.
