Most under 40 do not know or care about Pete or if he should be in the HOF or reinstated or not. Or watched him play or manage. |

My awareness of him came after his glory days. He always seemed like a grade A penis with a douchebag haircut. He hasn't dismissed that opinion post career |

I can pick a few things I do not like about Rose. Running to first on a walk is not one of them. |

Some minor league manager should have taught that fuck how to jog briskly down to first. Why would you exert max effort for zero benefit? If a black dude had done it he would have been called a "hot dog". Fuck Pete Rose. |

When he was playing,I wonder how many kids stood up and said: "Look mommy,he hit a single!" He wasn't even the 3rd or maybe 4th best player on his team during those "Red Machine" years. Off the top of my head: Bench,Perez and Morgan. There were guys like Bobby Tolan,Griff Sr. and Hal Mcrae,Lee May all throwing in some big seasons in the mix also. Man what a team. |

I remember him from the phillies mostly. he was a big personality on the field. chomping and spitting and clapping and hustling (obviously). his act was very appealing to a kid. too bad I missed his heyday..his stats are pretty amazing. total jagoff though. IMO he bet on games he played in and managed. dude should be banned forever. |

Neato. Didn't recall what it was 'til I watched that ad ... I think I may have tried it once or twice ... good idea if you want to learn to bat like Vlad and try to connect with everything within a three-block area of home plate. |

Ichiro was the leading all-star vote recipient in 2001 (In his rookie season), 2002, and 2003. But you're right, nobody cared about him. http://www.si.com/mlb/photos/2013/07/08/mlb-all-time-leading-all-star-vote-getters/14 |

He would closing in on Roses record if had come in his early 20s. |
