The avatar is Herman Zweibel from the old days of The Onion. A good character, but not as good as Jim Anchower or Herbert Kornfeld from Accounts Receeeeeeivable.

Yeah, The Onion basically followed the same trajectory as The Daily Show: they used to create their own absurdity before realizing we had so much of it in real life.
