Not only getting the no hitter but striking out the last hitter is always sweeter. |

The 3 pitches in the 9th to get the strikeouts were just filthy. Fun to watch. |

First Cub no-hitter I've ever seen. Beats the Rich Bordi game versus Juan Samuel. |

But I've not seen every Cubs game ever. |

Well, it's just so frustrating that they're finally having this awesome season while the Cardinals and Pirates are well ahead of them. At least the Cubs themselves have a healthy lead on the second wild card. |

This is so much fun but there is still a whole month of baseball left to play when the only game that matters is #163. I know we are suppose to be a "year early" and I do think this team has the potential to be contenders for seasons to come, but I'm not going to just assume we are going to be even better next year and the Cardinals and Pirates will be worse. Win it all this year. |

Win it all this year. They said that about the Indians, Brewers, and Nationals. No guarantees, gotta go all out this year. EDIT: I hope the Nats are cursed forever for shutting down Strasburg in their best season ever so they could win championships with him later. What idiots. #expos4life |

Quote: Pedro Gomez Verified account @pedrogomezESPN I like Jake Arrieta's chances for August NL Pitcher of the Month. He was 6-0 with a 0.43 ERA. He allowed two ER in 42.1 IP in August. Preeeeeeetty good. |

Arrieta said he thought it was a hit also, to be fair. It was early enough in the game, in addition to being on the road, that I don't think the fact that the Dodgers had zero hits at the time played a role in the decision. |

Jaw Breaker wrote: good dolphin wrote: Kerry Wood pitched a better game All the Sox fans in my office today saying it's tainted because of Castro's error (that they believe was a hit). Might have some merit if it were at Wrigley but the home teams scorer not giving the hit ? Plus I love the assumption that just because it was hard hit it should be scored a hit . As Hawk would say, this is the big leagues, you gotta make that play . It was right at him despite it being hit well. In that case every time an outfielder drops a line drive it should be a hit cuz it was hit hard . |

This "no-hitter" needs an asterisk since LA is fifth lowest for scoring. |

Yea, it was hit hard but it was hit right at Castro. That's routine. |
