Prior to Rizzo's homer, Siegrest had not allowed a line drive to a left-handed batter during the 2nd Half of the season. #Cubs |

Didn't Rizzo himself hit one off him the previous night? And they didn't really win the NL Central, you know. |

Besides Rizzo homering in consecutive games against Siegrist, isn't he a reverse splits guy |

Are fly balls classified differently than line drives? His HR on Monday was a bomb as opposed to the laser last night. |

Kirkwood wrote: Are fly balls classified differently than line drives? His HR on Monday was a bomb as opposed to the laser last night. I mean....they are...but a home run is a home run. Are we now saying a line drive home run that goes less far is "more impressive" than a bomb of a home run? Also...is that fact supposed to make Siegrist seem good? "I give up 2 ER per appearance, but it is all on walks, ground ball singles, and 450' home runs. No line drives against me!" |

I can beat off watching a left handed first baseman make a throw to second. |

You guys are reading the opposite into what I'm saying because you're so interested in trying to take down the champ. I'm saying the longer, higher home run is more impressive. It has an easier chance to go out in any ballpark, in any direction. The "line drive" home run that Rizzo hit on Tuesday was not more impressive than the home run Rizzo hit monday. Rizzo leaves 30 ballparks on Monday. He has a line drive gapper off the track or wall in any ballpark with deep alleys on Tuesday. Schwarber's home run on Monday was a line drive into the basket. Killed it. But is that more impressive than his scoreboard shot? Certainly not. |

I look forward to how you attempt to use that quote. Especially considering I was correct about Abreu. Joe Orr Road Rod wrote: Not even BRick or I have ever proclaimed ourselves to be "The Champ". The ego on this kid! That makes sense, as you haven't been the champ. |

Joe Orr Road Rod wrote: IMU wrote: I look forward to how you attempt to use that quote. Especially considering I was correct about Abreu. When was that? When you compared him to Altuve? That was dumb of me. Altuve actually gets his team into the postseason. I mean...his OPS is still .800+, and he adds value with defense and baserunning. Abreu is a liability outside of home plate. |
