Chicago guy straight-up killing it in the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions. Went double or nothing twice and got both, guy's ahead of the other finalists by like $26,000 or something. It's a two-day match but I don't see any way that anyone catches him. He's my hero.

I am glad he is beating that Matt Jackson guy. Dude is sharp as a tack, but a giant dork and horribly annoying.

Haha, Alex isn't exactly a social butterfly himself. Between Arthur Chu and these guys we're in like a golden age of eccentric Jeopardy champions.

Matt Jackson was destroying everybody to this point, too, that's the craziest thing.

Commission the statue baby we got ourselves another area legend. I think there's some room there in that plaza off the SW corner of Adams and Dearborn.

Hmm, speaking of Arthur Chu, looks like this guy has the same strategy that pisses off these bullshit "purists" who think you should do one category at a time, top to bottom:

Quote:
Jacob has been dominating his competition by jumping around each Jeopardy category, which throws his opponents off and allows him to find the Daily Doubles more quickly. Once he gets a Daily Double, he either bets big to make his lead insurmountable, or bets small to steal a double up opportunity from the other contestants.

I liked when he ran up the score so hard that he just wrote "ALEVE" in big letters for Final Jeopardy.

The Soup featured Matt Jackson a few weeks ago. That dude has to have Aspergers.

I enjoyed the first one but the 2nd one with Ultron was more of the same.

Yeah, a guy who is dominating at Jeopardy probably perseverates on special interests and has poor social skills. You willing to wager everything on that one?

EDIT: in retrospect, Ken Jennings seems unsettlingly normal.

Won by about $38,000 across two days. I bow to thee.
