J Fox & Co maximizing talent on this team.

Was against it at first but TAG #17, make him earn a huge deal (here or elsewhere) , let him a K White play together...lotsa FA money as well.

Jay is our Qb, will have a financially accurate salary on him next year.

Offer Forte a 2 year deal...maybe 3?

I look forward to 2016, because after that Adam G is gone, as I think they become a very inpressive offensive team.

Disagree, Lock up Alshon long term. Shake Forte's hand and wish him the best.

6 games left...a smarter coach/GM would have dumped Cutler before the season starts.

They tried, nobody wanted him. I think Jay is gone next year, I don't care if he's only making 13 million or whatever.. He's just not that good and I'm tired of lookin at him under center.

I am well aware of Jays shortcomings, but may I ask who you guys have playing QB?

Really unimpressed with game day Coach Fox. He has got a really shitty attitude for a 4-6 team. He needs to realize this isn't Denver or Carolina. And Chicago media isn't real tough.

Also hearing that he held out Forte and Jeffrey for the GB game even though they could have went today. That is inexcusable if it's true.

Jay is better than Luke or any of the Journeymen you have in mind.

Fox also said they went for it on 4th down because "he wasn't sure if we would get down there again"???.

Osweiler isnt and never was and never will be better.

Kirk Cousins is the starting QB for an NFL team and will be for awhile.

However, they had the stones to draft him even after taking RGIII, because you need a QB.

You need to draft QBs! All the time.

This could be an 8-2 team if he makes a couple of different decisions.

Absolutely they should draft, This class don't look good though. I was the one screaming to not resign Cutty and draft Teddy B.

How about Brock Osweiler? He signed a 4 year rookie contract in 2012 so he's available after this season, & he played for Fox & Gace for 3 years.

His salary actually gets worse next year, though there may be a few quarterbacks who get new deals to pass him. I'm not sure. It's still a major anchor next year given that even in this "good" year for him he is hovering around the production of Josh McCown on a team that is pretty much out of it without a win vs. the Packers.

They just aren't locked into him for as long term after next year but that also begs the question as to what exactly the Bears are doing at quarterback. I mean, you'll have a 33 year old quarterback in the last year of his guaranteed deal who you can keep after that for a high salary on a team that doesn't look like a true contender and at best is hoping for everything to fall right for them and they get a wild card in 2016. All the while, the Packers are still in front of them, the Vikings are coming, and the Lions have more pieces in place to beat them especially if they make a good coaching hire.

So, outside of "find someone to give you a 5th round pick for Cutler next year, roll out Clausen for a few games and then a first round qb, and build for 2017" I don't really see what a viable plan is.

I was screaming at my car radio to kick the field goal on the 4th down.

Just a horrible decision not to.

He also said that "They went for it and didn't get it either."

Yeah well, the Broncos also scored two touchdowns so try that on for size.

The Bears are better, and I think Fox has them playing fairly well for the talent on this team. There are many things that need to improve still.

I thought Bridgewater was the absolute perfect Trestman QB, but Trestman isn't here anymore

Wait did I just see a reference to Cousins being a long-term starter? The only reason he ever would be in that position would be due to coaches' obstinance, as with Gruden this season. He's backup talent at the very best. Whoopdee doo, you lit up a Rob Ryan defense last week.

Post subject:  Re: BEAR

Have you seen some of the QB play this season? I'm not saying that Cousins is a pro bowler by any stretch, but to say that he could be a starter in the league for a while is not that crazy of a statement to make.

Author:  ZephMarshack [ Mon Nov 23, 2015 9:09 am ]
Post subject:  Re: BEAR

What is Cousins good at? He's not even a decent game manager because he commits too many turnovers even in the dumbed down offense Gruden is trying to run to hide his flaws. The amount of excuses he's gotten for his play this year compared to guys with actual proven records this year is staggering.

Post subject:  Re: BEAR

Again, that just goes to show just how bad the QB position is as a whole in the NFL. You have 4 or 5 guys that are great, another 6 or 7 that are pretty good, and then the rest are pretty bad.

Author:  bigfan [ Mon Nov 23, 2015 9:36 am ]
Post subject:  Re: BEAR

Cousins throws a good deep ball. Helps that he has 2 WRs that can go get it.

He is the next coming of Ryan Fitzpatrick. That guy will that will become the starter because he is just better than the next guy in line.
