Speith spitting out the bit at hole 17 and 18 has made it a race.

Who the hell invited Smiley Kaufemen?

Sounds like a guy that opens for Richard Lewis in the Catskills.

Reminiscent of Watson at the '09 Open. I think one thing that the wind does is somewhat equalize the long drives -- they aren't as good if you can't keep them in the fairway, and some of these 50+ year old guys have no power, but they have control. The best thing about these lifetime invitations is that you get some "old timer" placing in the leader section every decade or so. How can you not root for them?

Please don't bring that up. It hurts to even think about it.

Tom Watson was my guy, before guys had "my guys" and I was a guy.

He could have won that so easily. Let's stop talking.

How could it be possible that these old guys can compete in the highest level golf tournament in the world? I was under the impression the modern athlete was bigger and better. How can it be that the modern guys are having trouble, not just with older worse guys, but with older worse guys in their dotage?

I remember Bob Ryan making the absurd argument that Watson losing was better for the popularity golf because it would immediately be dismissed as a joke if an old guy like him managed to win

Couples kept in contention til the final round a few years ago.

Wasn't Watson also in contention at the 2010 Masters?

37! That's damn impressive. First made the cut in 1960, last was in 2000. Finished 6th in 98.
