It's going to be a lot of work. Often humiliating.

Good luck. Godspeed.

I wouldn't worry about the shaky Cub pitching just yet. Hopefully it will improve by the time they stop scoring 7 runs per game.

The pitchers only to need to give up less runs than their opponent. Isn't that what a pitcher's job is?

Of course. I never said the Cub pitchers weren't doing their job so far. I think Arrieta should beat a losing pitcher like Shelby Miller most of the time. The Diamondbacks gave away the house based on other numbers. I wouldn't want him because his record illustrates how much he sucks. We'll see who is right.

There's really no point. But it is funny to look back and read predictions. "Kris Benson's emergence as an elite starter."  I always knew that turd sucked by looking at his shitty record. The guy who wrote this thought he was really smart putting a lot of stock in less meaningful numbers.

http://espn.go.com/premium/mlb/columns/bp/690331.html

The guys in that table weren't unlucky. They all sucked. Well, except for Mussina who had a lousy year and maybe Radke who was serviceable. Bottom line: Every guy on that list except for Mussina (who was already a good pitcher) was horseshit going forward just like his W/L record suggested he was, rather than actually being "elite" which was apparently the idea a lot of people got from their other numbers.

Its not even worth it for me. I've already accepted the fact that the Cubs are probably going to win 138 games this season. Maybe they don't crack the 120 mark if their offense gets cold. I mean 7 games in, and they have already shown us all everything we need to see.

I woke up to hear that yesterday was a statement game...an early April game against a team predicted to win 60 games...and you think I'm the guy who will be humiliated?

Sox fans really aren't chirping. Not nearly to the extent that Cubs fans are.

Frank you're fine. Jorr is going to be Jorr, a closet Cubs fan who loves baseball. I can respect that. But Dolphin is off the charts. Go to the Cubs section of this board, and three of the last seven threads have been started by him.

I think it is, RFDC. The two teams have played pretty much the same but Sox fans seem guardedly optimistic while Cub fans think their team is one of the best that has ever played the game.

Both teams are playing well and are relevant albeit one week into the season. It'd be nice if we all enjoy the ride. Again, better than fighting over who is the tallest midget.

I used to have this argument with OKC: you consider this fighting?

The stuff I read in this thread and others, yes in a message board context.

One of seven actually. I'll readily admit to be overly sensitive. But you are nothing less than annoying, and I think that is intentional. I much prefer to have an honest baseball discussion. I've always hated the non-stop trolling.

There's good baseball talk in between the trolling. I enjoy the mixture of both. Most of my good friends I've had in my life have been Sox fans so I'm use to it. It's just fans being fans.

Not quite. The Cubs have scored some runs in bunches. The Sox have won thier 5 with good pitching and timely hitting. The latter is much easier to sustain.

When have the Sox maintained timely hitting?

The Cubs have a better offense than the Sox. I have no doubt about that.
