For daring to call out Jimmy Butler for talking about leadership all the time.

His state of the Bulls address was rather enlightening. Let's see if he makes the necessary roster changes. I don't hold out much hope, but we will see.

'State of the Bulls" you mean that BS thing he and Gar did after the game?

Goff actually touched on the Bulls entire issue, the desire to create a "comfortable environment" is the main goal of this team. Everything is about that. Everyone wants to win a championship, thats an inherent goal in playing the season. Should never need to be stated, its how are you going to get there? The Bulls have some vision that it should be a smooth easy ride and EVERYTHING should operate like some well oiled machine. From marketing to the CHARITY EVENTS to the practices, etc.

Go ahead and trace back players and see the long time connections to Gar. From McDermott, to Taj, to Snell, Barstow to Fred. Of course its not always the case, but having a connection to Gar, someone that Gar knows and vouches for you makes you a better player in Gar's mind.

Most important, be a good employee who works well with the executive wives for charity events, because thats what really matters!

He called guys out, including Rose and Hoiberg.

It beats not calling guys out. I know it's fashionable to bash Paxson but on this one don't have a problem with what he said. It is far more acceptable than saying that we think we have enough to win. This roster has been badly constructed, and if stands pat he is a fool.

It's also a good thing to check Jimmy Butler. Butler continued to make statements which demonstrated selfishness up through the end of their season.

Rose will have to demonstrate that he gives a fuck. His contract is up after next season. I fully expect a completely different Derrick Rose.

Who is calling out John Paxson?

John Paxson just seems like someone who will say anything to pass blame at this point. Is it not a huge indictment on Paxson that he is calling out a player he just gave 5/$95M to less than a year ago?

Correct!

And ya know what would matter, if he called out Rose to his face 1 on 1.

I am not saying gar is the only one. ALMOST every team does it to a degree, because they know someone it makes them better at what they do.

yet, I brought this up when the Bears hired Emery, then Emery kept the same scouts...whats going to change? Nothing....and Nothing did...it actually got a little worse.

Still, with all that said, nothing can really be done due to the contracts, so get the best year you can get out of these deadbeats, use them like they used you and get something for them next year.

I figured this was a shoutout for his ability to keep an executive level position for as long as he has without a championship or even championship appearance, something unmatched by other front offices in the NBA.

But I see it's instead for his ability to get fans and local media riled up at the players again while ignoring the man behind the curtain and his muppet-looking crony who created this mess. He's being "accountable" though, as he told everyone while demonstrating no accountability whatsoever.

The only way he could hold himself accountable would be by firing himself. If this Hoiberg thing blows up, then Reinsdorf should fire him. It hasn't yet, contrary to popular belief.

Butler didn't behave this way last season. Most attribute it to Hoiberg, but it could be based upon the contract. Jalen Rose agrees that it was more so they later

I thought this was for him not signing Carmelo Anthony.

Then don't talk about accountability like a politician in the first place. The running themes of the press conference were GarPax shitting on the players and using injuries as an excuse for their utter failure this season.

Hoiberg's job security is as much about GarPax not wanting to admit they were wrong and Jerry not wanting to pay 3 coaches at once as much as anything he's actually shown as a coach.

Hoiberg lost 8 fewer games this season than they lost last season. Their players missed many more games and he was expected to win with guys that couldn't get off the bench last season. It wasn't an utter failure. This isn't a championship roster and it's on Paxson to get better players.

Jimmy Butler can't be your best player if you are going to win anything. It's on Paxson. Hoiberg has to improve, but Paxson has to acquire better players. It's not going to be easy, but good G.M.s find a way.

Yes he does. It's his job to say such things. He is more credible than Joe Cowley, who still feels the need to write puff piece articles about it being Butler's team, even after the team misses the playoffs. Jalen Rose or local management hating, Butler sniffing writer? You decide.

I won't quite go to that extreme  , but I don't think he should get a shoutout until he can land a top tier free agent better than Ben Wallace, Eddie Robinson or Carlos Boozer.

As bad a shoutout as this is, I'm surprised it wasn't entitled 'John Paxton' ...

When long time guy was arguing that Isaiah Thomas would be a better GM than half the league even currently ( ), he posted an article backing him up saying Thomas was the best talent drafting GM since the 1980's. Jim Paxson was 2nd on the list.

If i told you that Isaiah Thomas has drafted better than Pat Riley you probably wouldn't believe it. Forgot about Dwayne Wade. That tops anything Isaiah Thomas has ever done. I don't ever remember Riley ever drafting anyone else of note though.

LTG is so desirious of being right about Butler that he is willing to give a shout out to a guy- primarily responsible for the Bulls suckage this year -because he slightly criticized Butler for not knowing how to lead.

Also the same guy who signed off on giving Butler max money just last year.
