I'm going to have to go down to Alabama with a stack of the new 20s and buy things in convenience stores just to piss off the racists for having to take a bill with a black woman on it. |

I find it pretty odd that Andrew Jackson is on the other side. could be worst president as far as racial sensitivity goes. |

I don't really care either way about the change. I did hear the woman behind the movement on NPR. It sure sounded like she viewed this more as a vehicle to attack Andrew Jackson's legacy more than advocating for Tubman. She tried to hide her agenda but the NPR person did the unthinkable in current journalism and asked follow up questions that got to the heart of her argument. I hate to give any quarter to the trend of deconstructing historical figures and judging them by today's incredibly subjective "standards". Wouldn't it have been more logical to team Tubman up with Lincoln? |

Everything and everyone has to be viewed in the context of its/his/her. Retroactive judgment is bullshit. Our parents weren't child abusers because they threw us in the station wagon without a car seat. Ferris Fain was not more valuable than Luis Aparicio. |

Retro judgement is a thing these days isn't it. Some things were bad forever and some things evolved. |
