While I like it, it also makes it tough on teams who have a built in out of conference rivalry game like Purdue. 9 Big Ten teams + 1 other BCS conference team = need 2 teams you can beat most of the time.

I think that the next major change in college football isn't more realignment, but a contraction of some of the smaller conference teams. Scheduling those body bag games might get more difficult.

I think the natural extension here is a 13 game regular season. It's already allowed if you play Hawaii and it's been just fine.
