This will probably work as well as the Dan Persa for Heisman campaign did.

They really should have waited to see if they beat Iowa in week 1 for this.

LOL... let's hope not!

But seriously, I'm not sure there intent is to actually get the Heisman, but rather to raise the hype about the 2013 season to sell tickets. I'm 99% sure that's why they did it for #PersaStrong... because I'm pretty sure they knew he was gonna be injured for a good portion of the season (despite their comments to the contrary).

I'm sure you are right, at least about the ticket sales. I would hope they didn't know how unlikely he was to play.

You better believe that Iowa is going to be talking a lot about how they don't want to be the first stop on the NIU sponsored Heisman tour. Now, NIU probably wasn't going to sneak up on them given they went to a BCS bowl game last year, but this puts extra attention on Lynch.

USA Today story on Jordan Lynch...

http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/53147446/

Quote:
An NFL draft light on great quarterbacks is good news for college football fans: The 2013 season is loaded with talented and accomplished players at the most important position in sports. So throughout the rest of the summer, we're counting down the top 10 quarterbacks in college football, one per week until the season kicks off. These rankings are based on college ability, not necessarily NFL potential. This week, Northern Illinois senior Jordan Lynch checks in at No. 8.....

Did anyone else watch the Orange Bowl last year? Or was it just me?

I'm sure Jordan will get his shot in the NFL. Then in a few years he will be playing Left Field for some 16inch team at Mount Greenwood Park.

I watched and thought - this guy couldn't beat a 4-8 big ten team.

You are correct, that was a loss to a bad team, even if by 1 point in the final couple minutes.

I still thought we competed pretty well against FSU considering it was still 17-10 going into the 4th quarter.

The NC game, Fiesta, and Sugar bowls weren't even competitive. NC game was the worst of them all.

Remember when Pam Ward said "It's a Persa party in Champaign today"?

My tip would be to go to as many bars as possibly and celebrate the fuck out of this game.

Is it me or did Lynch really struggle with the read-option today? He kept it too many times when he should have handed it off.

I'm just glad they realized in the 4th qtr to go to a pass heavy offense.

Was he even recruited by NU or the Illini?

He had no offers from anyone but NIU including the rest of the MAC.

Wow ...thanks for the reply.

It's hard to get NIU news over here. I hear more about UIC and Loyola than the Huskies...!
