Cats will never make it through the season. With Kain rushing like he does, he is gonna get his head taken off. Northwestern ain't built to get through this season playing like this.

Despite the score, Cats making stupid decisions. Getting burned by a bad MAC team. No pressure from D-line and the CBs are still as weak as they've ever been.

I'm pretty confident that we'll get the win, but was hoping we could play our scrubs in the 4Q. Not gonna happen.

Look at some of the schools that've already suffered a loss this year, a lot of which were preseason Top 25 in several polls:

Florida
Georgia
South Carolina
Texas A & M
Notre Dame
Texas (2 losses)
Wisconsin
Nebraska
Penn St.
USC
Oregon St.

This year is already shaking out to be a good example of parity.

There's a misconception out there that so-and-so doesn't "belong" in the Top 25 because they're not winning big or winning with style, even if that team remains unbeaten. The reality is that this year's best will take time to become apparent and rise slowly but steadily -- and Northwestern shouldn't be ruled out of the group potentially vying for BCS bowl berths as they work out their deficiencies.

When the first BCS poll comes out later on, we'll have a better idea of what's going on.

Well, there is one thing I can say.... with how crappy the Big Ten looked this weekend, I can't really rule out NU making it to the Conference championship. Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin doesn't look much better than us. Ohio State is the team that scares me most... we'll see how that goes on Oct. 5

PJ is going to be raiding the state of Illinois for recruits going forward. The Broncos should be one of the better teams in the MAC in the future.

Hey Boilermaker Rick,

I thought you'd be interested in a Kyle Prater update. I'm not trying to be funny or anything, but all that drama was for naught. The dude is officially not much of a football player. Technically he is on the two deep, but he's basically just use for blocking. He was targeted once yesterday and fumbled it. He is not fast. He is not a good receiver. Just shows how scouting boners for 6'5" receivers can be so wrong.

I think what happens is Ohio State goes undefeated to Michigan and may have to beat them in back to back weeks to go play Alabama for the national title.

Things may well play out that way -- but there's also Oregon, who I think will beat Stanford and could well be 12-0.

Also, going over the skeds, I wouldn't be too surprised if either Florida State or Miami ran the table.

The thing that was most obvious to me was that they could not stay on the ground and run out the clock when they had the game in hand. They should have been able to run, run, run throughout the 4th but they couldn't make 1st downs.

Good thing for the Cats that WMU decided it wanted to work on its running game down 17.
