So I was thinking about this today, but I'm going to need some help from the many board members who know more about gambling and college football than I do. Obviously each team has a certain BCS score and ranking. Vegas has something very similar, but sometimes they seem like their rankings can have significant differences. I think we all basically acknowledge that Vegas knows what the hell they are doing. It doesn't seem like there's a ton of confidence in the BCS rankings, even by those who like the BCS format. Why not just use Vegas' rankings if the goal is to have the two best teams play for the title at the end of the year?

1/3rd of the BCS rankings is composed of the aggregate of 6 separate computer rankings..iirc. I wonder if any or all of those 6 computer algorithm's incorporates vegas rankings? http://www.bcsknowhow.com/tag/explanation
