Buddy of mine who is a huge Texas fan talks of this as if it is a done deal. I guess there was some big drama awhile back as Saban's wife was house shopping in Austin.

One thing is certain Saban has always been willing to leave for the right deal.

Personally I would think Bama would be a last destination type of job, but if the money is right who knows.

RFDC I will be at the Wisconsin/Indiana game next Saturday, any thoughts? Also, any word on how Fischer has been doing down there? I know he was hurt for a while with a shoulder issue, but I believe he is back.

Everything I have read about Fisher is positive, I think they are pretty excited about him. From what I understand he is back as well.

Everything I have read about Fisher is positive. I think they are excited about his potential. I am cautiously optimistic about this season. Losing Zeller and Oladipo is tough, but they got some good players returning.

Good for Big Fish and I hope he plays well. Got to put a little more meat on his bones.

In regards to Saban, just a ploy to get more money out of Bama and they will come a runnin.

My long long texas connections been talking this up since last year! $10 M a year for 5 years!

he would have the same tools and more at UT. Biggest revenue generator in the country!

If he wins a 4th, is he more than satisfied at Bama.?

Being the star in Alabama I am sure has its benefits, but it is still Alabama! :pig:

Austin is really really a nice lifestyle, just an overall cool place.

Very true about Austin and if he could do there what he has done at Alabama he would be a God.

How long would they keep his statue up in Tuscaloosa if he did leave? Minutes, days, weeks?

How long should they really expect anyone with better options to continue to live in Tuscaloosa anyway?

didn't 60 minutes just do a story about Saban's tenure @ Bama being his longest & how he loved it there? If he goes to Texas, the whole state should fall in the ocean. In fact, even if he doesn't go, Texas can still sink.

As long as a better option is not on the table and this could easily be a better option!

Just watched a story on 60 minutes Sports which airs on Showtime I think. The facilities they have
at Alabama are just incredible. Probably only school with better might be Oregon. Can't find the
story on youtube yet.

Texas is every bit the program that Alabama is. Every door in the region is open to you. Huge and "donative" national alumni base. Facilities. Big game on campus in the biggest campus in the state in the biggest state in the union.

The problem I have seen with Texas is that it is soft. They produce entitled players.

Agree about Texas players, thus they need that guy that is more entitled than they are to make sure they dont run the program
