But then the question really is about Carey - if they go through with their plans to redo Huskie stadium and elevate the team to possibly a Big 12 type program - is he the answer for that program?

You get raises only when signing a new contract or to prevent another team from interviewing you coach. You don't just give out raises because.

I'd let Carey walk if it ever came to it. He isn't Kill or Doeren or even Novack for that matter.

Why the hate?

He;s 23-5 with a conference record of 15-1 over two years.

They went through a 4-4 stretch that I felt really showed his make-up. Even some of the wins that should have been 4+ blowouts were inexcusably close (E. Michigan, etc.). I think his offensive game plan was rightly in question for a while.
They have been much better of late, the defense looks much improved.
