All they had to do to feel better about losing a game to their rival was to go out and win the national championship. Yeah, that sounds like an argument the Michigan-OSU game doesn't matter.

This was one of the first seasons in a while I really enjoyed, playoffs included. I think opening up the playoff field gave the room for teams to breathe and not fear an early loss or a strong schedule. Conference consolidation had some to to do as well of course. It seemed every week had good games, drama and upsets. And the end didn't have to have teams lucky enough to go 12-0.
