BR,
Saw that classic game on the BTN last night. Despite throwing 4 interceptions, Drew Brees was amazing. When he came across to knock that guy out of bounds to save a pick 6 (even though dOSU eventually scored), I was cheering. And then to shake off that interception and throw a bomb for a long TD was classic. Great game that I have forgot about.

That win helped Purdue make the Rose Bowl that year, I think they tied with Michigan and Northwestern in the Big 10 standings that year.

That's right. What an exciting year for football that was. Zak Kustok and Damien Anderson were ripping it up for NU while Purdue was kickin' ass and takin names with Brees, Sutherland, and Mackey.

It was a fun and exciting year for both those teams until the bowl games hit, but still a Rose Bowl and Alamo Bowl bid.

That was an amazing game, as was pretty much the whole month of October that year as they beat Michigan, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Ohio State to set themselves up for the Rose Bowl. They got really lucky as they blew it the next week against Michigan State and nearly lost the Rose Bowl bid.

That was my first year as a Purdue fan, and likely the best year I'll ever see as one. I wish I had enjoyed it more because it may be another 30 years before it happens again.

I know the feeling... my Senior year was the year we went to the Rose Bowl. I think there is a big connection in our "first years of fandom" and the level of interest in the team now. Man, that was a great year for Purdue. Just a fun fun fun team to watch.
