Auburn/Duke has bed a highly entertaining game.

Also, the SEC is kicking the shit out of the ACC.

It's amazing how good the SEC is at basketball now. They've thrown massive money from football at it. Meanwhile, most Big Ten teams are happy with coaches that make the tournament most years.

Or coaches that have to be told to get out of their office and go recruit.

Said the same thing to my son last night, 10 years ago, it was Kentucky and maybe Florida for a couple of years. Now, they are loaded.

A&M and Purdue has been a fun watch. A&M did a great job of taking Purdue out of their stuff and their ability to get a bunch of offensive rebounds killed Purdue.

UNC and Notre Dame was a good game. ND with a stupid foul on a 3 to give them a 4 point play and the win at the end.

If you ever think the days of message boards are over just sign up for an account at an Indiana basketball forum when there is even the slightest hint that the coach maybe in trouble.

More parody in NCAA hoops than I remember in a long time. Numbers 3,5,6,7,9,11,12,14,21 and 24 all go down yesterday.

Supposedly Beard wants the IU job really bad from some things I have read.

NIL money is going to be a major factor here. I think Indiana is a better job now than it has been the last few coaching cycles because of that.

With that said, I am not sure IU will hire Beard with his past domestic abuse situation.

That's my thought too, his past might not play in Bloomington.

Bruce Pearl has openly coveted the Indiana job. He might have hit his ceiling at Auburn and would bring some good players with him.

Isn't being the #1 team and the favorite to win the national championship everyone's ceiling? Indiana hasn't made the Sweet 16 in a decade.

Kind of my point, this isn’t 1978. I don’t know this job is close to what it once was.

my wolverines are very improved from where they were last year. They have a huge turnover issue AND give up more offensive rebounds than anyone else. If they can even slightly improve on those, they will be trouble in the tournament. they have two 7 footers and 1 of them can run the point.

It is not the job it once was no doubt. But it also is not the job it was 4-5 years ago either. NIL has changed everything and Indiana has a ton of resources moving forward. According to some reports Pearl was reaching out to people last year saying he wanted the job if they moved on from Woodson. Maybe that has changed this year, maybe it has not.

It’s like the Bears. It’s been dreadful for a couple decades but there is so much heritage and passion there that the legacy you will gain restoring it to its glory days is unmatched by any other job. Those expectations and unrelenting scrutiny make it really hard though. It is fool’s gold. If you don’t have a Saban or Coach Cal run of dominance people will grumble, which seems preposterous considering how moribund IU basketball has been but it’s true. The refusal to accept anything other than dynastic runs is what creates a dynamic where even the in between is impossible and IU just wallows as a bubble team most years.

Its like how Ohio State fans are still not thrilled about Ryan Day.

Definitely some truth here.

There are a ton of unrealistic fans out there who will never be satisfied.

Woodson has been brutal. And IMO there is no doubt that with their resources they should be able to get a coach who can have them competing at the top of the Big 10 many years and make a few runs in the tournament.
