I'm heading down to Lincoln, NE this weekend. 4 buddies... one from New York City, one from DC, one from Chicago (me), and one from San Francisco will be flying into Omaha and driving an hour south to Lincoln. Nebraska is on my bucket list of stadiums to see. I'm told great things about the atmospher and fans. It should be a blast.

The game, however, will likely suck. Nebraska just matches up perfectly to NU's weaknesses. The line is Nebraska -17.5 and o/u is 63.5. I would give the points and take the over. 42-24 is my prediction.

Wait until you see Omaha's airport.

I think I would take the points and the under.

Have a good time MUD, I look forward to hearing the recap when you get back. I've heard there is
no shortage of good looking women and places to drink out there. You should have a good time with
your buddies regardless of the outcome of the game. Travel safe.

Kinda funny. The price for our hotel room? $240 plus tax with a minimum of two night stay. The price the following Monday is $80 with no minimum stay. Supply and demand, bitches. ;)

Nah... I've usually just made day trips to Kinnick. You can do that with 11:00 starts. Wake up at 5. Get there by 9. Tailgate a couple hours before and after... then back to the Western Suburbs to sleep in my own bed.

I suppose I could say we could meet for a beer one of these days at Two brothers but I'm not wearing purple.

Like somebody put before, to hear what the stadium looks like and what Nebraska is like.

If Northwestern can stop the run, it should be a close game at least.

Parity in the Big Ten has been a problem for a while now, but it looks like this season almost everyone is equal. The worst teams in the Big Ten are just as good as the "best" teams in the Big Ten.

Looks like only one BCS bid for the Big Ten this season.

It is for the Big 10. They have a huge PR problem right now. They're not doing well in the bowl season and the couple times they did get to the title game they got blown out.

Wisconsin was supposed to be their "elite" team. Then they lost to Michigan St.

Then Michigan St. was supposed to be that team and they get clobbered by Nebraska.

So now maybe it is Nebraska or Michigan, but both lose to teams they shouldn't.

So now you're telling me their top team is Penn St? They have absolutely no offense and in the Rose Bowl they would have to go against a team like Oregon, Standford, or USC which have plenty of it.

EDIT: Forgot USC is still suspended from the postseason. That's a good thing for the Big Ten then.

Phenomenal time. Not because of the win, but because we were treated so well by the Husker fans

i think it's great that you got to have that experience, MUD. obviously the top billing goes to the NU win but it's great that the fans were gracious. it's a bit of a novelty at the moment (fanbase wise) but that doesn't take away from the victory. great game, and great win.

kudos!!

Congrats MUD, sounds like an awesome trip that got a hell of a lot better with an unexpected outcome. Awesome pic of you guys on the field.

Um how close was the Wisconsin/Purdue game?

Give it up my friend. As much as you and I want to see it, I doubt NiU is going to the big ten anytime soon. If that is your endgame here...

Props to Mud for seeing the game. Hopefully it makes this season more acceptable...

Has nothing to do with NIU. The Big 10 just isn't very good. They have no elite teams. Just a bunch of teams that can beat each other on any given day.

Nice pics MUD. Still need the full rundown of the aftermath. We need details!

I'm not sure if the Big Ten is good or not. I don't think parity speaks to that. It does seem that there is Wisconsin at the top and Indiana (and maybe Minnesota) at the bottom and the rest of them can beat each other on a given day.
