I'm not going to slam him, but pretty much everything he's saying is cringeworthy. He obviously should have retired long ago. And if he didn't want to, he should have been made to retire. I'm sure my mom might like to drive, but I've got her keys.

That's why I disagree with Spaulding that he's as guilty or maybe worse than Sandusky. If it comes to light that he actively tried to cover it up, I would agree with her. But from what we know it seems he is an old man who just doesn't understand priorities.

That's not uncommon for old people. When my dad was dying of cancer, my mom was doing everything. She had to drive all over taking him to various appointments, get his medicine, make sure my dad's parents were taken care of, etc. My grandfather's biggest concerns were getting his lottery tickets and watching "Wheel of Fortune". It's not that he didn't care that his son was sick and it's not like he was senile or anything either, he was just an old, old guy and his thoughts weren't exactly right. That's how I see Paterno.

I hear you. The rest of them are miserable fucks in their own right. But being a complete moron and asswipe isn't equal to being a .....Sandusky. The ones who knew and chose to do nothing take a great deal of blame in what may have happened to a large number of children after learning the truth.
