4 more wins and I think we can get in. Not likely, but you're saying I have a chance.

Iowa and Penn State should be wins... struggling to find where we get our other two. Maybe Minnesota and Michigan. I don't feel good about the Indiana game in Bloomington.

It's not over yet but they must beat Minnesota and could really use a win against Michigan or Ohio State. At Penn State and at Iowa are must wins too.

The guys who used to run the Bracketology 101 page have both become married and have kids (not to each other :D ), but as a result, they have put the Bracketology on hold for now...and it sucks because they have been pretty spot on, even better than Joe Lunardi.

I see a lot of sources have NU in with an 8-10 conference record (beat Iowa and lose to Ohio State). Is there precendent for a team with a losing conference record to get into the dance? Our RPI is in the 30's so that helps, I guess.

I think the Big East had this happen a few times.

I don't think the committee would find it shocking that a team could be 8-10 in the best conference in the country. I think it's expected that if you include 7/12 teams from a conference that the last one would be below .500.

I wish I was more excited about the potential to end this horrible streak. I guess my frustration with Carmody plus that we may just "sneak" into the tournament because the bubble is so weak, makes me a little meh about the whole thing. Hopefully it helps with recruiting... and perhaps gets some of the school's admin/alums to open their pocketbooks to tear downt that monstrosity that is Welsh-Ryan arena.

I understand your thoughts but just enjoy it. The key is getting in. You never know what can happen.

Is tonight the biggest game in Nortwestern History, A win and there most likely in the NCAA Tournament, a loss and need to do some damage in the Big 10 Tournament.

Early on, down 8-2.

Goddamn you Northwestern.

How many games is this that they lose in the last 10 seconds?

A great comeback, but a win would've put them in I think.

Beat Iowa and win the first game of the BTT against a bad opponent and Northwestern should be in the opening round games at least.

Northwestern got the win vs Iowa today, and what seems like their usual 1st round opponent in the Big 10 TOurnament, Minnesota.

The fact that ISU couldn't finish off Creighton, which could have burst NU's bubble.

Things have gone alright for Northwestern.

Northwestern is going to be the story of the BTT.

Beating Minnesota in the BTT is a must. Lose here and Northwestern is out.
Beating Michigan would make them a lock. Lose and it's going to be really close. They need to hope that nothing crazy happens in the other conference tournaments and a team that was behind them gets in as a lock.

If they don't beat Michigan, it could come down to the Atlantic 10 tournament. Northwestern fans should root hard for St. Louis and Temple.

Colorado/Oregon could also be troubling if they make the finals of the conference tournament. VCU/Drexel shouldn't matter today as one will be in and one will be out.

It's hard to imagine any other Big Ten team making the tournament once you get past Northwestern unless they win it all which is good for Northwestern as they don't have to worry about Iowa or Illinois jumping them.

Illinois wins that. Iowa has trouble against athletic teams.

Interesting stat:
Only 12 teams have no losses to teams outside the RPI 100.
Syracuse, Kentucky, UNC, Duke, Mich St, Kansas, Marquette, Ohio St, Baylor, GTown, UNLV, and Northwestern.

This will be close if Northwestern wins Thursday and loses Friday.

Does the West Coast get 3 bids, with the Winner and Loser tonight along with Byu.

The Mountain West has I would say 3 solid and possible 4 with Colorado State.

Does C-Usa get 3 with Memphis, Southern Miss and Central Florida.

On the A-10, 2 for sure, Xavier could be the team to worry about, weren't they ranked high before there fight.

In the Big Conferenes as of Right Now

Pac 12- I put Oregon in and could get 4 teams
SEC- Could be 5 or 6
ACC- I would put 5 and see what Miami does this Weekend
Big 12-5 and see what happens with Texas this Weekend
Big East- I would go 8 for sure, heard over the Weekend they thought Uconn was in, that's 9, does Seton Hall make 10.
Big 10-6 for sure and see what Happens with Northwestern.

We get tommorow start with Seton Hall, so it should be fun and intresting.

Interesting article, but I'm not sure where Powers got his 2-1 record against RPI 26-50 teams... isn't it 0-2 (two losses to Purdue)?

Lunardi from ESPN went on a rant later last night, how teams that have losing conference records shouldn't be in the tournament, so he may not show much love to Northwestern.

Then said America would love to more of the smaller conference teams in, I disagree with that.
