Yeah it was a foul. Defender definitely didn't hit the ball and shooter missed by 5 feet short and it was clear his arm was hit.

You didn't think that was a foul?

Hell yeah it was a foul. The guys shot fell short by a lot, do you think he just missed that bad?

I think it would have been a real cheap foul. Especially at that point in the game. I watched it several times and I didn't think the defender affected the shot.

I'll say this. Iowa fans can complain all they want, but that ain't a Big Ten foul. It's a call the pussies in the ACC expect to get.

That’s not even a high school foul. That’s a borderline NBA superstar foul but that’s not a call anybody should expect to get.

I have no rooting interest in the game. But it looks like the ball is gone before he hits him. It's a little touch at most. That's not the kind of foul I want called regardless of if it's against my team. That's the definition of "ticky-tack."

So you think he just came up 5 feet short on a 3?

He was clearly impacted. I don't think it is even a debate.

Go back one more frame. There's contact with the ball not released.

If you need to Zapruder the footage then a no call seems appropriate.

Yeah, that's how I feel about it. Just because the guy missed badly from the far corner doesn't make it a foul. I think no call was appropriate. That's not a hot take or anything. I'm honestly surprised that the consensus was that it was an "obvious foul."

My feeling is if you’re going to be a stickler with that foul then go back and do each shot frame by frame and let me know which team came ahead.

His arm was hit and the ball fell like 5 feet short.

How do you explain that without a foul?

I only need to Zapruder it for JORR because we all saw the foul in real time.

They still would have lost.

Not going to lose sleep on an Iowa loss. But, it was a foul.

Watch the video. The ball is in his hand in this picture. It is just being released as his arm is hit.

And how many points did Iowa steal from Richmond for questionable calls? Would 3 free shots have made a difference if the game was 100% called and Richmond was up by 8 or more?

I'd post the hand on the lower wrist with the ball still in his hand but I don't know how.

But wins and losses don't hinge on one play. Should have done better on the other 75 possessions.
