It's a big deal because of the chance they would be taking the eighth or ninth best coach from another Big Ten school.

Don't think Tubby is available.

Painter isn't Izzo or Matta. He's arguably done as much as Bo Ryan with more talent. If someone offered me either Matt Painter or a spin on the Coaching Roulette Wheel, I'd take Matt Painter. But he also just took two All-American players to the round of 32. We're not talking about Coach K here.

You're late to the party, IB. It's a done deal: Painter to Mizzou, Weber to Perdue, Bill Self's hairpiece to the Illini.

I've written extensively about the myth of no talent at Wisconsin. On rivals star ratings they were top 3 up until recently. Ironically, Illinois has now surpassed them in this regard.

I never said he was. He messed up recruiting in 2008 and 2009. Only one real impact player in each of those classes unless you count Ryne Smith finally becoming a contributor this year. However, he kept Purdue a top ten team in what really matters and lost one of those tournament things that you say are too random to be significant.

This is a big deal because a coach who won Coach of the Year 3 times in 6 years is staying (supposedly).

This from Bernis Miklasz of the St. Louis Post Dispatch:

If my information on Painter was wrong, then all I can do is wear it. Any or all criticism of me is justified.

I take pride in my reporting and my cred, so if this has blown up on me, then all I can do is apologize profusely.

And I know that isn't good enough for many of you. But my embarrassment is profound.

Something changed and I have no idea what it was. Thanks for listening.

He sounds kind of like Goff after Wade re-signed with the Heat.

You've got to lay the law down on that when you're dating. That's what I do.

I still think Bruce Weber is going to Purdue anyway.

Painter did get money for that assistant videographer position, didn't he?

Painter's assistants are going to get paid extra.

It was reported on the local station that there would be announcement tommorow from the Athletic Department. If your a Purdue fan, I don't know how you would feel, if Painter wasn't a fomer Boilermaker, would people cared as much if he stayed, 2 sweet 16's, but hopefully it does work out and Painter keeps getting good players in and does get to the Final 4 1 year.

On Danny Hope, If Purdue ever fired him and maybe after this year, it's not like they will bring in a big name, it will be an assistant coach from some other school, just like IU did. If they wanted to turn the football program around, pool the money and go get Mike Leach, that would make you a national story and get the fan base excited.

For Boilermaker Rick, there has been a website started called firemorganburke.com. I tried and nothing has come up, and on the local t.v., former Purdue coach Tiller defended the AD, probably because never fired him.

Bruce Weber to Oklahoma by Friday has now filled the void of recruiting news that everyone will say is happening but then probably won't.

If Weber interviews with OU, I am setting the over-under for the number of participants in the pro-Weber rally on the U of I campus at 1. There is a statistical likelihood of 99.79% that this individual will be a raving lunatic from the internet who goes by the name of Dr. Kenneth Noisewater.

Since there was talk about Brad Stevens, I don't what he wants his future to be, but if he wants to get top 5 coaching job, I think he should leave Butler now.

To me and most people I hear, College Basketball is down right now, and so I don't know how good Stevens really is, it could be his team is just taking advantage of it. I would say in last year's run and this year's tournament run, they have only beaten 1 team that suprised me and that was Syracuse.

If they change the rules and make players that go to college stay for more than 1 years, then the top teams will be better and Butler could be going going back to be Butler, and if Stevens is still there, will then nobody would want him. Like next year, from everything you hear there is about a 90% chance the NBA will be on strike and it will go for a long time. So if some players don't jump to the pro's like a Derrick Williams of Arizona or Kentucky's players and others, well the top teams are good and Butler goes down a notch.

Like I said, I don't know what Stevens wants to do in the future, but if he wants to be a big time coach and stay big time, he may want to leave now, for a place like Missouri, if he can win there, then will show more people that he is a good coach and not because of how college basketball looks right now.

Planning of the $30 million student center was approved last year. The building will be funded with $18 million in gifts and $12 million in Big Ten Network revenue.

The same university that chided donors for not donating more is stealing $12 million from a channel that only exists because of athletics to build some stupid campus building filled with "Transition and Success offices". I don't even know what that means. Is it any wonder that outside of basketball they are historically the worst athletic program in the Big Ten?

That $12 million could go a long way to paying coaches and filling stadiums which would make them a ton more money. Instead, we'll have sweet offices for frat boys! Go Boilers!
