Furthermore. I don't see why parity is so bad... We don't garner any revenue from the tv rights, or funding based on wins. Who the fuck cares? We all know the big ten is like a little brother compared to the sec. Parity shouldn't be alarming.

Parity will also make gambling much more interesting. If gambling goes up, so do viewers, then ad rates. That's all the NCAA really cares about re: Football. It's the easiest way to promote the school, without having to actually promote the school.

Its truly depressing as a sports fan to come to the realization of the depths to which the mob has their hands into all major sports...

Love the camo!

Mud so glad you were able to experience the win in person. I was very animated watching at home. I admit to being a fatalist. After the 1st half I texted a friend that we had won another 1st half and that if games were only 30 minutes long we'd be in line for the B10 championship game.

Had a shot of Old Fitzgerald(!) 100 proof bottled in bond bourbon to celebrate!

I was the same way, Don. I kept telling the Husker fans around me "If there is a team that can piss away a 10 point lead in the final two minutes... it's us".

I can't say enough about the fan hospitality. One of my friends buddies was a Husker fan and he kept saying that next time I'm going to wear a Northwestern jersey because nobody's buying me drinks. Seriously, I'm not sure if it was because we were from a non-threatening school or if they are always like that, but I couldn't have been treated better.

As happy as we were watching the game on Saturday, I was very happy for you, MUD, considering you made the bucket list trip and didn't expect that outcome!

Non threatening school - I'll be reading reports on November 26th how they were a-holes to Iowa fans.

I was totally not expecting it. It was funny, I was hanging out with the father of Kevin Watt (Northwestern defensive end) and Chris Watt (starting guard for Notre Dame) in the airport. First off, the guy is so incredibly down to earth. Not the over-bearing football dad you might think. And he's done a fair amount of traveling to watch his two sons play. And even he said that he's never been treated better.

Even before kickoff, my buddies and I were saying it was one of the best trips we've ever had. And the score just made it even better. Frankly, if we lost, those nice Huskery fans may have felt the need to buy us even more beers. I tried to pay it forward by buying rounds for random folks after the game. Kinda easy when drafts were only like $2-3.

I went there as a nominal ND fan a few years ago and was treated well

Can we forget this Penn State stuff and bask in the glow of last weekend's games please? ;)
