Nebraska is the hottest team in the conference right now. Watched about half of the game yesterday against Purdue and they are much more athletic than I remember.

Nebraska has a good player in Petway also.

Do they need 20 wins to make the tournament, I could see them getting 19, 2-2 close out the regular season and 1 in big 10 tournament.

A thought on Wisconsin, this is one of the teams year after year and that a credit to Bo Ryan, but is it time to do something in March.

1 Elite 8 in 12 years

I think Nebraska might be closer than Minnesota. Nebraska probably gets to 19 or 20 with wins two wins over top 25 teams and a win over Minnesota.

Minnesota has the same two wins over top 25 teams, but has lost 6 of their last 8.

Purdue big man Jay Simpson is done with basketball after being diagnosed with a serious heart condition. He always struggled with conditioning. He fainted at Nebraska and it was discovered that he has the same heart condition that killed other players like Reggie Lewis.

He'll still get to keep his scholarship and it sounds like when caught it is treatable.

I did see that yesterday - too bad for the young guy but good of Purdue to let him earn his degree.

The knock on him always was "He's the most talented player on the team but he just can't get his conditioning up". Well, I guess we know why now.

Hopefully they aren't looking past this game for the big 10th place showdown with Northwestern.

A sight never seen at this point in the season. ESPN has their incoming class as #21 in the nation. That's never been done before.

Chris Collins, ladies and gentlemen...

Where are all the calls for Chris Collins for coach of the year now? 6 in a row in the L column.

I will say Purdue will bounce back, but finishing last in the Big 10 this year, a couple years ago this team was loaded with Johnson, Moore, and Hummel.

What a season for Nebraska.

They better, or Painter is done there.

They finally should have a couple people who can shoot which has been completely missing for two years.

I'd like to hope that the almost complete lack of a junior or senior class explains what happened but I'm not sure.

I could see the first happening but the only team with an outside shot at a 1 is Michigan.

This is like 2 identical teams going at it.

I have zero confidence that Indiana can win the game.

And I am curious to see what happens if they lose, just how warm is Crean's seat going to get

This might be the greatest 9 seed in Big Ten Tournament history.

 I was disappointed it wasn't on the Score stream. Had no interest in listening to Rome. Who
does the winner get in the next draw?

I'm not really up on the number of automatic bids and who absolutely has to go as an at-large, but it seems like the conventional wisdom is that Illinois has to win this tournament to make it in. But with recency supposedly being so important to the selection committee, I would think beating Michigan has to at least make them a consideration. Not that I really expect them to beat Michigan.

I heard Boers talking about the idea that the Big Ten is the best conference. He didn't seem to agree and neither do I. Last year there was no doubt in my mind that the Big Ten was head and shoulders above every other conference. But not this season. There is more than reasonable depth, but I think Duke, North Carolina, and Syracuse are all better than any Big Ten team.
