How in the world does TCU stay above Ohio State?

I kind of get it - they lost in overtime of a conference championship, whereas OSU was skullfucked at home by its biggest rival.

But TCU has been trying to lose all year. They should be 4th at best.

That would be the first time in thirty plus years that I’d root hard for the Bulldogs.

I am actually shocked The Committee didn’t somehow shoehorn Bama into this at #4, and put OSU back at 3. Would have perhaps been a bit unfair, but the chatter and interest would have been off the charts.

Saban was a little salty when interviewed last night, but he also said this:

Nick Saban wrote:
We're obviously disappointed. We wanted to see our team have an opportunity to play and get into the playoffs. We're going to get an opportunity to play someone somewhere in a good game. That's going to be an opportunity for our players to create value for themselves and show what kind of team we really have.

I just think it comes down to trying to establish the kind of respect we'd like to have for this team and we did and didn't accomplish and what we did and didn't do. What we do in the future, what we do moving forward is going to determine that to a large degree.

I'm hopeful that players will see this as an opportunity to create value for themselves, even if they're older players that have a chance to get drafted this year and come out, if they're seniors or juniors. For the younger guys on the team, to sort of build value for their future in terms of how they can use this as an opportunity to continue to develop and grow and get better.

TCU is 1-1 against teams that finished in the top 25. Those early season wins against overrated Big 12 teams aren’t all that impressive now that everybody has a compete resume.

OSU is 2-1 with a terrible loss.

TCU only lost once. Alabama was a few plays away from losing once (or not at all), but they were also a couple of plays away from four losses, too.

However, you are totally right that some of those Big 12 teams turned out not to be too good. I mean, TCU has had much better teams.

I'm shocked but Satterfield saved his job by a nice end to the year. He was gone halfway through the season. Still not 100 percent he stays but close.

Reset it for next year. Go Louisville!

Only 1 SEC school? I guess tOSU is sorta honorary SEC. Georgia gonna roll the Big Ten teams, if they don't fall asleep at the wheel.

This was a weird year. There's no Alabama/Clemson duo as the obvious top two teams. Lots of weird, up-and-down teams this year. LSU, Oregon, ND, USC, Utah, South Carolina, Washington, Fla. State., Texas....

Georgia is obviously the best team; only one team really has come close. Their defense, while still good, is not as great as it was, and sometimes their offense sputters, so they can be beaten.

TCU played seven teams during the season that were in the top 25 at game time.

They beat six of them.

They played in a conference championship as well, while OSU did not.

But none of those teams were good. ND was 5th when OSU beat them; that win would not be equivalent to beating Bama today.

The Big 12 proved to be bad over the course of a full season. The big 10 was also bad; I think bama and Tennessee had better arguments than OSU.

I was hoping Alabama would sneak in so that the Tenn fans would lose it.

Wait. The SEC wasn't much better than the Big Ten this year. LSU is better than the Big Ten fourth team, but LSU was so up and down. The SEC was not as dominant as it usually is. Not even close to being that.

Alabama played one top ten team this year and lost to them. TCU played one and won. It's Alabama's own fault.

That fan base has some issues....an inferiority complex. It's kind of funny, but I spend time in the state every year and always talk football, and my Lord, the amount of tears that are shed. It's like they're talking about losing their buddies in Nam.

This made me laugh. I agree with # 1 for sure:

Yes, to the point he's coaching in the USFL now.

Hopefully it's just giving a former player some consideration but the moment Brohm leaves you hire Ty Helton at WKU.

It’s probably not fair of me but I feel disappointed by Deion. I thought he was a guy who had made his money and went to hbcu not as a job but as a vocation. He certainly talked that way, but Deion was always a carnival barker. I respected what he was doing and it certainly like all boats were rising with the tide he created. Maybe someone else takes up the mantle after seeing what was possible. I just think he hurt a lot more than a football program by leaving.

We’ll see how he does when he is the guy with the short end of the stick compared to opponents

He was making $300k a year and now he gets $30M over 5 years plus incentives.

Deadspin is pissed off

Honestly, though, you hope a guy sticks around a place like that for a while. But in the end, he isn't better than we thought he might be. Seems like a good enough guy, but he's nothing special.

Colorado is a disaster, too. They may not even have a conference.

Ok, but that doesn’t really address my point. I’m sure Malcolm x could have gotten a corporate job
