I say this every year so here we go again: 16 teams. 10 conference winners, 6 at large bids. Gives it the fun underdog component with the mid/low majors and allows you to get the good teams who didn't win their conference.
This year: UCF, Clemson, OU, Ohio St, UAB, NIU, Fresno St, Washington, Alabama, Appalachia State
6 at large: ND, Georgia, Michigan, Florida, LSU, and the debate: Penn State or Wash State

I know it will always have a debate but this would be fun.

16 teams with no conference championships, or 8 with conference championships. I don't think they could reasonably add 2 more games.

Division 3 does a 5 week playoff, 16 teams is 4 weeks. If they started this week they would be done the same week as they planned. I would actually be more inclined to cut 1 or 2 non conference games and keep the conference championship.

Feels good to settle in on an otherwise dreary day to watch the Army Navy game. I may even turn up the heat in a my generally empty house. Then again no, I can grab a pillow and blanket and give the ice cubes a break.

I think people are 50-50 on this subject, and I don't know if anything can be really done, but in my opinion, they got to get these players to play in these bowl games.

As of right now, I think were up to 10 guys that are skipping there bowl games, whether you think there are too many or not, I just always look at it, the cities that host them get an economic boost.

I don't know if this is a result of having the playoffs now, if you don't make it, who cares, Im not a fan of the players skipping these games, I just look at it, you've been with these guys all your time there, finish with them, if worried about injury that can happen anytime.

Tell me how they can legally force an NFL draft prospect to play in a meaningless exhibition game?

And if they could, how are they gonna stop that player from all of a sudden having an "injury" in warm ups that prevents them from playing?

Coach Mullet bringing the wisdom:

“(Skipping bowl games has) become very popular now,” Gundy said, via The Oklahoman. “I hate to see that happen, but as I've said before, we live in a society today where things are considerably different than they ever have been before, and (if) young people feel that there's a better opportunity for them somewhere else, then they're gonna make that decision to move on, and so we do the same.

“The one thing that I am concerned about is the longevity of the bowls and the fact that I would hate for it to become so popular that bowls aren't important anymore, because I think that's a great reward for a team.”

Skipping bowl games:

West Virginia QB Will Grier
Houston DL Ed Oliver
Iowa TE Noah Fant
Minnesota OT Donnell Greene
North Carolina State WR Kelvin Harmon
Arizona State WR N’Keal Harry
South Carolina WR Deebo Samuel
Michigan DL Rashan Gary
LSU CB Greedy Williams
North Carolina State LB Germaine Pratt
Oklahoma State RB Justice Hill
Oklahoma State OL Larry Williams
West Virginia OL Yodny Cajuste

How do you know so much about Gawwwgia football? That's always surprised me. I know you said you spent time down South....so I am gonna assume it was in Georgia.

No problem with skipping bowl games. They are a reward for the season. If you skip it right before going pro then it is cool. I would view it like skipping graduation because your dream job wanted you to get there quicker.

When you put it like that....it can be hard to argue.

It also give another kid a chance to play, but it sort of goes against the idea of a team. You can't be stupid, though, and risk injury. But still....

I know this is a annual refrain but I don’t know how this chinless fuck rod carrey keeps his job at niu. He was willed a ready made program and essentially it has been stuck in neutral since his arrival. I think the mark of a coach is his record when given extra time to prepare. He is about to go 0-6 in bowl games. My guess he has been the favorite in the majority of them

I don’t know if he has pictures of someone but that program can simply do better

TCU used to put up 500 yards of passing a game. Tonight? 24 yards. Fuck

Mercifully ends with a FG in OT. Not sure why TCU is celebrating. I guess they are happy to hit the town and find some AZ tail.

I heard on the radio today in 2 years they may do 8 teams. 5 conference winners and 3 at large. No conference champ games in this plan.

Notre Dame BCS/New Year's 6 bowl record:

0-5

Average margin of defeat: 23.4ppg

Thank you Fighting Irish for getting us to an 8 team playoff. Your entitled incompetence will not be forgotten.

And it's only getting worse. Purdue is going to have to put Rondale Moore on Darius Slayton. He's running through and past everyone else on Purdue.

And now a defensive touchdown. Yikes!
