Rumors swirling that Wannstedt is done at Pitt, despite technically winning a share of the Big East this year. Not hearing any rumored names yet, but Golden might be a possibility, I suppose.

Lipid won't want to hear this, but you have to think Paul Rhoads is a possibility for this. He was the DC there for a long time.

But he cried in the locker room...and said he was proud of his team

When was the last time a coach at ISU said they were staying and left quickly...oh yeah, he's going for the national title right now.

On Pitt, that may not be a bad job, it looks like Lewis is only a sophmore, so he could come back, Baldwin a Junior, maybe thinking about pro's, but somebody on Sunday said less juniors may come out this year, with the thought of a lockout.

All the new coach needs to do is figure some things out, like winning on the road, more experienced qb along with Lewis and maybe Baldwin, they could be a factor in the Big East.

He'd be dumb to take that. You can not win there.

That's a lot of money to not win though. I'd coach there for half that. Could probably get half as many wins too.

On the other hand...Mississippi State just went 7-5 in a division with Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas. You go 7-5 at Vanderbilt and you're a legend. I tend to agree though, he's either God of Offense or toast. I love Gus Malzahn, but he's probably not God of Offense. Probably.

Um, I'd coach there for 5% of that. But you and I don't have his resume. He can get good money anywhere he chooses....

It looks like Will Muschamp, DC at Texas and "coach in waiting" for Mack Brown, is being named head coach of the Florida Gators.

That whole coach in waiting bullshit is stupid. How can you expect Muschamp to wait? It's not like Brown is close to retirement.

Breaking news on two fronts, as Malzahn does indeed go to Vandrbilt, and Miami hires Al Golden of Temple.

On Golden to Miami, I don't think the fanbase will get excited, so he better win early, to me not the guy I wanted, but he did do some things at Temple, but Miami is a diffrent beast and hopefully he is the guy that gets it going again.

On Malzahn to Vandy, I wonder how this will affect him going to the national championship, I imagine he would still call the plays, because Lee Corso has said when Florida State was playing Oklahoma for the tiltle, Mark Richt was going to Georgia, but called the plays for that game, but that his mind wasn't on the game all week, talking to the current players and recruiting for Georgia.

On Muschamp to Florida, I don't know how long Mack Brown was going to stay at Texas, but I wondered who made the overture first, was it Florida or Muschamp. My guess is Muschamp, because I can't see Florida saying we need a coach, let's see if the guy that will take over Texas will want to coach FLorida. I am just a little suprised, that Muschamp would leave a school where he has set relationships and maybe have things ready when he takes over to go to a school where he basically has to build new relationships and get coaches too.

Gus Malzahn is one of the great offensive minds in college football, along with Mike Leach...& I certainly don't blame Gus for taking the $3 mil per year, but he has his work cut out for him at Vandy big time. I'm surprised he didn't go to a more established program. Illinois would have been nice.

ESPN reporting that Malzahn has turned down Vanderbilt, maybe another story ESPN jumped the gun about.

Winning the MAC has its bonuses

Pitt has hired Miami of Ohio's Mike haywood

I'm going to guess the Pitt faithful will not like this....

There are reports that Maryland may ask Fridgen to leave and bring in Mike Leach.

Well, with the Under Armour money, they can likely afford it.

A nice win for Northern Illinois today, but if your at Fresno, are thinking that it's time for a change. Pat Hill was rumored for some NFL jobs a couple of years ago, but he decided to stay and after his 15th year ended today, I would say a dissappointing season.

This was their 3 straight bowl loss and the announcers said the team wasn't inspired to play the game and I think if your Fresno State going to a place that you lost 51-0, you should be ready to go for this one and you got clobbered. In the 4th quarter, it looked like Fresno State didn't want to play anymore.

I imagine Fresno State keeps him for a couple of more years, but if I was a Fresno State fan, I think it would be time to look for a new coach, thank you Pat Hill what you have done, but what have you done lately.

And I in turn would ask Fresno State fans - who do you think you are? They've made 11 bowl games in 14 seasons under Pat Hill. I don't think you can ask for much more if you are Fresno State.

Yea, but you see a team like Boise in your conference making BCS bowls and having chances at national titles.

I will add 2 coaches, first going into next year, I have to put Dabo Sweeney of Clemson right at the top, Clemson gets top players and you lose basically a home game today and it took your backup qb, who will be your starter next year, the final couple of minutes to get drives going. I just think Clemson should have won easy today, lose, and there were some games they should have got that they lost.

My other guy and would be suprised if it happens soon, but Mark Richt, I like what you have done for Georgia, but it maybe time to go. A.J. Green saved the season, but if he goes pro, who knows what next year will be like, you score 6 points today, not good. Some other things, Tennesse looks like they may be getting some stuff figured and could be a team next year, and if the reports are true about Weis, Florida should be at the top again, so you may finish 3rd at least in the SEC East, and 2 straight bowl games, not on New Year's Day or after. I think Richt has done a great job, but there was heat on him last year and at the start of this year, so I could see Georgia make a change.

If UGA gets rid of Richt, they are stupid. He would instantly be the hottest commodity on the college football level.

Pitt is denying this right now, but reports are that Penn State's defensive coordinator Tom Bradley may get the job, some station in Pennsylvania reported it, but like first put Pitt is denying right now.

The expectations at Georgia are off the charts. They think they are Alabama (and maybe they should be), but you are right that Richt is a pretty darn good coach. He just happens to be in the toughest conference.

I guess a Michigan plane has been seen around Baton Rouge, so Michigan may try and get Les Miles again.

For the IU fans, this may or may not be true, but one of the offensive coordinators, Pease may be going back to Boise State.

I read that both of those things are not just rumors but happened. OC gone to Boise and Michigan is talking to Miles.

Well does Michigan now look at Hoke from San Diego State, because it is being reported that Miles is staying at LSU.
