What is this basketball thing you keep talking about? Well anyway that's what a DVR is for. I hope my guy McKinney is going tonight.

Ha, the high school my son attends and plays on the JV team is going for their 4th straight championship. They play in the semis tonight.

Lets say they're not the most active school on the recruiting trail and I've also heard they have some shady techniques. It's too bad. They used to field competitive teams.

The Hogs are on SECN tonight against Ole Miss at 6:00pm. They had a nice win last night and they could really use a series sweep. Hopefully Killian is on the mound tonight.

It was about 4th on the tv watch list last night, but I did see pieces of it. They whipped their ass last night.

Couple good games on SECN today. Missouri vs Texas A&M at 1:00pm. Mizzou will run out man beast RHP Tanner Houck (Collinsville, IL). Houck will be a 1st rounder in 3 years. Then Tennessee vs Vandy at 4:00pm. Vandy will run out RHP Walker Buehler who will be a 1st rounder this year.

I don't think either of their old high schools has even played the total number of innings they've already logged. F-ing winter.

Get to watch my son finally throw against St. Rita this afternoon. A day after they (Rita) hung 3 TDs & a 4inn. no hitter on Morgan Park in that weather.

I saw that. Rita can really swing the bats. This is a good test. Wish him luck and tell him to keep the ball down.

Calling DeJong a catcher and Ian Happ an OF is a stretch but I get what they're trying to do. Hard to keep Illinois LHP Kevin Duchene (4-1 0.64 ERA) off that list but I get that too.

Midseason All-America Team:

C: Paul DeJong, Illinois State Jr. .417/.493/.775
1B: Will Craig, Wake Forest So. .423/.516/.815
2B: Scott Kingery, Arizona Jr. .477/.510/.727
3B: David Thompson, Miami Jr. .344/.433/.649
SS: Alex Bregman, LSU Jr. .341/.422/.630
OF: Nick Banks, Texas A&M So. .425/.481/.583
OF: Ian Happ, Cincinnati Jr. .394/.519/.673
OF: DJ Stewart, Florida State Jr. .312/.525/.624
DH: Dansby Swanson, Vanderbilt Jr. .372/.482/.642
UT: Brendan McKay, Louisville Fr. .289/.430/.378

SP: Taylor Clarke, College of Charleston Jr. 6-1 1.69
SP: Carson Fulmer, Vanderbilt Jr. 6-1 1.89
SP: Alex Lange, LSU Fr. 6-0 1.39
SP: Dillon Tate, UC Santa Barbara Jr. 4-3 1.34
RP: Tyler Jay, Illinois Jr. 4-1 6 Saves 0.79
UT: Brendan McKay, Louisville Fr. 5 0 2.03

Hickman is pitching so well that he's changing some minds. After the Cape it was a foregone conclusion that he would be a reliever at the next level but now some think he has a chance at being a starter.

Taking my son to the game. It's a beautiful day for baseball. Can't beat the price, either. It's free.

I so wished they used wooden bats. I just can't get used to the ping. It doesn't sound like baseball.

That's great. When Jay comes out to pitch tell your son he's watching a future big leaguer.

He's went to the U of I baseball camp the last two years. Last year, he did the overnight camp. The kids stayed in the dorms at Lincoln and Florida, basically across the street from the field. He had a great time. We live close to the field. We can walk or bike. It's a cheap afternoon of fun. It's a plus they're actually good, too.
