Skip Holtz lighting them up Ditka-style on the La. Tech sideline. Fire and passion.

I think Illinois might have blown their chance to lose this game.

La Tech could have made a couple plays and buried this team, put them in their classic "give-up mode".

But I think that time has passed.

I always thought Zaxby's was some kind of mood-altering medication when I saw their branding in NASCAR but, apparently, it's a restaurant chain.

Who knew?

It's a fried chicken place in the south. John Wes Townley's dad owns them

These two teams love to hit the QB.
Usually 4 or 5 steps after the pass is thrown, but they do love to hit the QB.

These are the ugliest 40-yard FG attempts in the history of man.

I was gonna post the same exact thing. They are 20-30 feet wide

Why did Illinois go for 2 after the TD?

Beckman wanted to be sure to make it a 4-point game at that time.

You wouldn't be able to go for 2 to tie after you score the TD that could have tied it at 24.

Off the post! It went in!

They keep talking about Illinois' "streak" at the end of the season like it was some impressive thing. They won 2 games! Against a PSU team that literally handed the game to them and it still took a last-second FG to win and an NU team that didn't have a QB.

It wasn't like they beat the Steel Curtain and then Montana and the Niners by 40.

The fans celebrated that FG like they won the lottery

Might be too soon to ask this again....but wtf did Beckman go for two?? That may come back to bite

La Tech keeps running that fake rollout counter.

They're 0-for-4 on it.

So Illinois put their DE on pass coverage on the fastest guy on La Tech? He did stay within 10 yards of him early.

Not only that, but the fastest guy on La Tech clearly isn't that fast.
The safety ran him down no problem

No way Illinois shouldnt be covering. Besides what has happened in the game.

Illinois should be winning by two touchdowns.

This is what Illinois does.

I thought Houston Bates just graduated. I had no idea he transferred anywhere.

And, yet, here he is with 4.5 sacks. He was a real good player for Illinois. About their only one.

This is so Illinois. It really couldn't have gone worse for Illinois.

They lose badly to a non-power conference team while a former player wins MVP then goes on a postgame interview talking about how transferring from Illinois was the best decision of his life.

Well, at least we locked Beckman up.

I was bummed that no Big Ten teams were playing now.

Then I realized Rutgers is in the Big Ten.

Game isn;t over, but NC State is starting to pull away.
Doeren definitely has this team heading in the right direction. Could battle for 2nd or 3rd in their division next year.

If you love a ton of points, turn on the Liberty Bowl. 41 points in 17.5 minutes.

and apparently a TAM coach has cheapshoted opposing players along the sideline twice in this game. Good idea because the camera never seems to find those kind of career destroying moves
