The season is less than 2 weeks away. Florida is the preseason #1 with another stacked team led by top of the 1st rounders RHP Brady Singer and RHP Jackson Kowar. Hogaroos Hogs have a chance to make a deep run at Omaha with a veteran talented team. Kentucky is another extremely talented team that can make deep run. Indiana is the class of the Big 10 with a nice mix of seniors and impact underclassman. Iowa has a very good pitching staff and is capable of making some noise if a couple hitters are able to step up and produce. Here is D1 Baseball's preseason top 25:

1. Florida
2. Oregon State
3. Texas Tech
4. Arkansas
5. Florida State
6. North Carolina
7. TCU
8. Kentucky
9. Ole Miss
10. Texas A&M
11. UCLA
12. Mississippi State
13. Stanford
14. Vanderbilt
15. Louisville
16. LSU
17. Cal State Fullerton
18. Dallas Baptist
19. Virginia
20. South Alabama
21. Texas
22. West Virginia
23. Indiana
24. Houston
25. Duke

In addition to being a sign of spring, and good television being on the way, threads like this are what keeps America great.

It can’t get here soon enough. It should be another fun year. There's a lot of guys from the area to keep an eye on.

Dallas Baptist, interesting. There has to be a story behind that.

They're becoming a national power as they have a very good talent pool to recruit from. They currently play in the Missouri Valley Conference with ISU, Bradley, SIU, Missouri St, etc. I assume sooner rather than later they'll be looking to get in a more regionalized conference like the Southland or Sun Belt. Ben Zobrist played there for a year after he transferred out of Olivet Nazarene.

The Illini are supposed to open the season in Texas tomorrow but Midway canceled their flight. Doc, lend them your plane. They really need to play this weekend.

Keyser, are the Illini any good this year?

No. They have some really good offensive players but they can’t pitch at all. They’re gonna have to win a lot of 12-10 games. They probably have the best outfield in college baseball.

It sounds like they found a couple games on sat and sun in St Louis. Better than nothing.

Mississippi St Head Coach Andy Cannizaro has been fired for cause. The 39 yr old HC was in his 2nd season at Miss St and was considered one of the top young coaches in the game.

It sounds like Andy was caught playing hot box with a Co-ed. Too bad

Was on flight to Gainesville late last week with some parents of Sienna's baseball players.

We considered taking in a game, but time did not allow.

I forgot to ask them where the hell do they practice in Albany, NY this time of year.

They’re most likely in the gym as I assume Siena doesn’t have an indoor football fascility.

No he was a senior last year. He didn’t get drafted but the Brewers signed him as a FA. He did ok. Hit some homeruns but not much else.

When are you getting out anywhere near to look at Thomas since it appears now that he wisely won't be at TCU. It's time to talk baseball.

Weather permitting they play Mar 12 at Lakeview. That’s a great matchup because Lakeview has a couple guys too. Let me know if you can make it out.

He wasn’t schtooping a Co-ed she was a football recruiting coordinator. I didn’t know there were female football recruiters. She used to be at Miss St and now she’s at Florida. Those are a couple of big programs. She must be ahem...good at what she does.

Weather permitting, I'll meet you there. They've quickly made Lakeview into a pretty good program. Remind me to tell you how their feeder system started churning kids out starting 6-7 years ago.

So how did this kid go from having success at Louisville as a FR to a bench guy as a Soph? Just simply over recruited?

Louisville saw his stuff was going backwards. He hasn’t been good since his freshman year. He was 86-88 on Sunday got one out then gave up a piss missile double and was yanked. But he did pick up the “win”!!!
